Ok back to the blog, Saturday we had a slow start to the day at Dorethy's place at Irvine (about an hour out of Glasgow) then drove back to Ronnie's place in Glasgow. Day 7, yesterday, was probably one of my favorite days so far. Uncle Jimmy and Aunty Marie took us for a drive for about an hour and a bit to a place called Loch Lomond. Ha! We had a BBQ in the sun for dinner - who would have thought we'd be getting a tan ...

... the Boathouse Bistro. Situated right at the edge of the loch we spent a quiet hour drinking coffee and reading the papers- lovely. The water was still, the bistro affording tranquil views across to Kinross House and Castle Island which is home to Loch Leven Castle. The castle is famous for being the place of captivity of Mary Queen of Scots between June 1567 and May 1568 before her escape. Boat trips also operate between the pier and castle under the stewardship ...

... We had just settled in when Shona arrived and it was nice meeting up with them again. Shona loved the carpet I had brought her and Dominic liked the book by Gen Lord, so all was well :).

After a nap it was off to the local pub, where we had a few beers and talked to the locals. I ...
