... experience with the Carbinieri! Clare gets pulled over! Not really, just a cop on the roadside signalling drivers to pull over, presumably for some routine check. "Bonjourno madam". Clare replies and tells him she's English, and he sends us on our way, almost dismissively! She really has been doing a splendid job driving. Her only recurrent issue is judging how much space she has when faced with oncoming traffic in some of the particularly skinny areas. On day 1 here, we ...
... by bus to pick up the x-ray disc. This was surprisingly easy. There seem to be no counters beyond the front entrance to the hospital, so one just wanders around and grabs anyone with an ID badge and gabble about Mio Madre and her broken arm and wave the paperwork. Eventually somebody went and got somebody who went and got somebody else and they disappeared for a while and bought the disc. An interesting experience.
... it. It took quite a while to calm her down. We walked around the Duomo, Lit a candle, and had tea outside with Mums new shawl to ward off the drafts. We had Pizza for tea which probably wasn't a great choice but the options are fairly limited
