I have stayed many times at a Crowne Plaza and the only reason it didn't get 5 stars from me was because the cleaning lady didn't come around to my room until almost 7 p.m. at night. By then, I really didn't want someone coming in to clean. But otherwise, a lovely hotel, lovely staff, good location.

Unfortunately, our planned pick-nick in the botanical garden was a bit of a bust. Somehow, the scale on our map was rather misleading, so after a two-hour hike we finally found the entrance to the park, which turned out to be the exit, and no way the security guard was going to let us in there! So we settled upon the park by the Olympic(?!) stadium, where we enjoyed a lovely lunch with some of our favorites: picked veggies, nuts ...

... Well, according to the website, and the ‘In your pocket’ guide, our hostel was meant to be great and in a good location. Wrong!!! The place was deserted, falling apart, and we were the only ones there. It was way out of town, and definitely not what we had expected. ****, things were not looking so great so far for this weird country.

After a 45 minute journey into the centre of Minsk, we were still very confused. No one spoke English, all the signs ...

Another 6.30 start. Busy day planned for today and we are moving on to the hotel in Mogilev later today so have had to pack our bags and leave the hostel this morning. Devotions: As led today by Sue; We begin our devotions by singing together Father we adore you. The bible reading was from Isaiah 42: 10-17. Without any introduction a couple of us then stood and invited everyone to join in with “Shine from the inside out” (a song that we had learnt the previous ...
