Crowne Plaza Miami-Int'l Arpt (Lejuene Center)

... Beach. Check in wasn't until 3:00 so we had some time to kill. Humm what should we do?? Exactly pull over and go for a swim, and that just what we did. We stopped at Hollywood beach and spent a few hours taking in one more beach before we all had to say good bye to Florida. 3 o'clock rolled around so we made our way to the Hotel, unloaded our things, made some road soda ...

Cruised into Ft Lauderdale early Sat morning. From here we transfered to the airport for our flight back home to San Francisco. We got to the Airport around 10 am and our flight didn't leave till 4 pm. Arrived to San Fanncisco around 9 pm. Loong day but happy to be home.

Or was it??

Snitch flew down & met me at our hotel, which is where we have stayed for 3 days.... the decisions we had to make:

When to go down to the pool
Which bed to sleep on
When to turn over
When to go for a swim
When to have a cocktail...

It has taken some serious thought!! Just in case you can't picture it I've added some of my own!

We were a bit disappointed with the Sofitel. It was basically a typical airport hotel, which did nothing to calm my nerves about flying. Our room overlooked the runway and there were low planes going over the whole time. We felt a bit claustrophobic as we were in the middle of nowhere and couldn't really walk to any shops or amenities.

08/10/2009 - After a broken nights sleep, we caught the shuttle bus back to the airport to catch our flight. We checked ...

... before the cops could get there) whatever, I knew where this film was heading. Luckily enough the flight went super quick and 9 hours whizzed by.
We took the bus (! not a cab) to South Beach, first bus came quickly the second we had to wait for ages and Miami is so hot at the moment, well steamy and humid. ... get a wink of sleep until 4am. The next couple of days were fun, but a bit like purgatory as I was anxious to get the real trip started in Colombia. The clientèle in the hostel were quite young and generally finishing up stints in America on Camp America visas and J1's (no paddies though). Plenty of ramon noodles to be had around that place, brought me back to my J1 days. Still enjoyed the nightlife and got nice n fried on the beach - so all in all it was a good laugh.

... trip just after 1PM. We had a small lunch at Bayside. Next we went back to my parents' house for kayaking and relaxing on the lake. At 7:30PM we went for dinner at Gotham in the Fountainbleu hotel We ended the night with a 11PM showing of Star Trek.
