My Bag goes a travelling

Me and my bag have had some issues and it decided to go on a little trip on itsīown for 19 hours! It went down to the state of Oxacala, which i hear is quite nice this time of year. My bag seemed to enjoy it and came and joined me in Veracruz the next morning. I was rather ****** off though as it went without letting me know and the poor quality of my Spanish came to light when i was ...

Moved.

Good morning! The sun in shining in Veracruz and I have finished packing. Today we leave for Puebla and I'm saddened to hear that the drive is only about 3 hours long. I wish it was more as I could greatly use the sleep but c'est la vie! I'll get what I can!

Last night we performed for a crowd of over 300 people and what a receptive audience they were. It seemed small since the venue we were in held almost 4,000 people, but this crowd definitely made ...

Host Family Day in Veracruz!

I am sitting in the living room of my host family's house, drinking freshly-squeezed orange juice, and enjoying this relaxing day. I will need to start packing as we leave for Puebla, Mexico on Monday! I am going to miss this family and this town so very much but am anxious to keep traveling and experience two more cities on Mexico (Puebla and Mexico City) before leaving for Europe on October 5!

I cannot express enough how truly wonderful yesterday ...

Wow. What A Week.

... Corn Flakes cereal, not Crispix. Crispix is not available in Mexico and, I have to admit, Corn Flakes works just as well! They really liked the dessert ("postre" in Spanish) but I think it was pretty rich for them! It seems that Mexican desserts don't include very much chocolate and sugar so I'm sure that puppy chow was a big surprise!

Monday was quite the frantic day as it was the cast's arrival day in Veracruz. The day was spent making ...

Viva Mexico!

Hi friends :)

Just wanted to wish you all a fabulous Wednesday! I've had a crazy 3 days here as we were prepping for the cast's arrival on Sunday and Monday, the cast arrived on Monday, and today was our first full day with the cast as well as Mexican Independence Day! I started a blog tonight but need to get up early tomorrow as we are going to the beach! I'll be sure to finish tomorrow!

I hope you all are well :)

Hugs,
Megan

Living for the moment

... was a getaway, a vacation from reality. However, the minute I walked into our house for dinner, the dreadful news broadcast glared back at me from the television in our kitchen. We didn't usually watch television during dinner; we liked to eat at the table and talk about our day. That week however, sitting at the counter top, watching the television at all times seemed mandatory.

I hope you all took time to remember the victims of 9/11 yesterday and to say a special prayer ...

Today is a great day :)

... m. I worked on a couple of new tasks. Andi made my day today by setting an envelope on my desk.

An envelope postmarked on August 31 from Montevideo, Minnesota.

Mail from my parents! It came! I was so excited.

I was able to talk to some of the staff members (the cast is now in Queretaro, Mexico) today and we discussed marketing plans for the cast. We will have a lot of opportunities for the ...

Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me!

... know, I am having quite a hard time letting go of the fact that I will not be attending any classes tomorrow or watching the new freshman on Olin Hill as they throw their beanies up in the air. Concordia played host to the best years of my life so far and many of my best friends will be starting school again tomorrow. To cope with my Cobber withdrawl, I am dedicating tomorrow's post to Concordia and the four glorious years that I ...

Heading South

We stayed 1 night in veracruz. The campground was ok but nothing to write home about. Had cold showers and there was a werido move right in next to us in the night in a class c that looked like it should not be on the road. We were the only ones in the campground and he had to park right next to us and then when I woke up I ...

Veracruz y los tiborones

...no, I donīt mean actual tiborones (sharks), just the hottest thing east of Mexico City: Los Tiborones Rojos, the national soccer team of Veracruz. And yes, we went to a game. And yes, the tickets were free, front row, straight from the hands of the goalie, and free. Mexican futbol fans are just as wild as expected, adorned with sharky gear and litros de Sol. Kudos to Dan and family for the connections (thatīs right, we even have connections in Mexico.) Danīs cousin Jorge is the ...
