    What a Thoughtful Hotel!

    from

I booked the hotel via priceline for about $80 USD a night, which was a great deal for this chain hotel especially it was on July 1st, Canada Day. Our room was a fair size but what I really liked was the fact that they provided the following in the room: ear plugs, eye masks, and lavendar linen spray. I thought that was extremely thoughtful of them. The breakfast buffet was $14 but the food was above average. We were quite happy with it. The location of the hotel is great as well, with nearby parking, shopping, sight-seeing, and restaurants.

    Not good

    from

We went at the Crown Plaza by the the third week of May 2005. We chose this hotel because of its location (nearby eveything) and for the indoor pool.

The staff was cold and unfriendly. We heard laughs and noise until 2 am from our room. The room itself is O.K but it wasn't worth 200$ a night. The bathroom is tiny. We had a room called "Sleep advantage"...the bed was comfortable but the curtains didn't block the light because of a large space between them and the floor..."Sleep advantage?"

    At 200$ a night, it's too expensive....it isn't worth not more than 120$ CA.

    Not Very Family Friendly

    from

Every year we travel to Ottawa with family to skate on the Rideau. We look for a hotel with an indoor pool and good service. The pool was freezing, the service appauling and not at all friendly to families. We felt like second class citizens and one of the wait staff even came up to one child (aged 11) and asked how old he really was. If the hotel boasts a kids eat free program they shoul back it up - or at least ask the parents the age. We will never stay here again and have passed along the word to our travelling firends.

    Great Hospitality

    from

We stayed here as a group of 82 during Hockey Day in Canada in Feb. 2004. We attended the Senators game on HDiC and stayed here for 2 days. Let me just comment on how great the service is. The staff at Ottawa Crowne Plaza is the perfect example of great hospitality. Before we even arrived they made sure everything was in place for a smooth check in. The rooms looks brand new and spotless, although the double beds in some rooms appears to be a little on the small side. The washroom was very small even in the suite. But other than that everything was great! The conciege was very helpful with local eateries and nightlife and we all had a great time following their advice. Ottawa is kinda a boring government town on Sundays though since everything is closed. But we still had a great time at night thanks to the wonderful people at Crowne Plaza, they even sent us a thank you note after we came back to Calgary! Everyone in Ottawa just seems to be so nice compared to Montreal, our previous stop. When hockey comes back I will definitely be making another trip to Ottawa to see my Flames play the Senators, and you can be sure that I will be staying at CROWNE PLAZA OTTAWA!

    Crowne Plaza

    from

There is no dining in the hotel. Breakfast was a long line for Tim Hortons. Normally I would never complain for Tim Hortons coffee, but we were travelling with small children and seating was limited.

The swimming pool was extremely cold for any type of family fun. It took longer to get dressed to take a dip than we were in the water for.

    Disappointed

    from

Although the staff were great this didn't make up for the very small rooms and basic features. I stayed on the club level and was disappointed when I found no minibar and the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. The hotel information also lacked a map of the area and I found myself having to go to the internet to explore the area. Not a bad hotel but certainly not a great one.

    Excellent hotel

    from

Great location, great staff, great price & great rooms - very luxurious! I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, I'm sure it must be one of the best hotels in Ottawa.

    Stay @ The Crowne !!

    from

I had an opportunity to spend the weekend @ the crowne plaza and it was one of the nicest hotels i have ever been too, 1st class staff, rooms, pool, sauna, gym, bar, whatever i needed was quickly taken care of from the incredble staff, i would highly recommend everyone to spend some time at this hotel, you will not regret it

Definitely will stay at the Crown Plaza again!

    from

The central location is what we wanted in our stay in Ottawa and the Crown Plaza provided that as well as excellent service. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The only complaint was the poor picture on the TV's in the excercise room :-) ! During our three day stay we constantly felt that the staff was genuinely concerned with our comfort and needs.

Really enjoyed the Crowne Plaza Ottawa

    from

I had to opportunity to travel to Canada for the first time for a conference and let me tell you the Crowne Plaza exceeding my expectations. The room was small but very cosy and clean. The friendliness of the staff was excellent, they really make you feel like at home. My next stay if I am around the Ottawa region, it will definately be with the Crowne Plaza Ottawa.
