... all the main tourist stops .....including a trip behind the falls, the Niagara experience (a movie in the round that rains and snows on you as you watch it). Up the space needle like tower for photos, a walk along the rapids, and of course the Maid of the Mist boat ride (WOW ....and in the front of the boat)
Now some side notes. If we think there are a lot of Starbucks in our area......there are just as many Dunkin ...
On our drive to Toronto we stopped at Niagara Falls on the Canada side. Canada side is definitely better than the American side. You get to see more of the falls and there is this awesome uber-touristy town on Canada's side as well. Niagara is soooo touristy. Not that I'm really surprised!
It was an awfully disgusting weather day, but it ...
... of Gentlemen). The owner/barmaid Joanne rocked!! At the end of the evening she gave us two free glasses, a Canadanian beer one and some local football team that apparently has no hope of ever winning some comp or other :)
Back in the motel now after havin the BEST footlong steak sandwich EVER!!!!! So full, so juiced up, so perfect. I love New York, all right! As in New York State :)
... you will feast your senses when on this tour. Home to the Butterfly Conservatory (more on this later), and an aviary where you can see some chickens. peacocks, pheasants and turkeys. This is one of the places I recommend you visit when on a niagara falls tour.
The Butterfly Conservatory
If butterflies don't scare you (and they shouldn't), then be sure to visit the Butterfly Conservatory. Located ...
we arrived at niagara falls after a 5 hour drive from pittsburgh. It is getting colder now it is about 60 degrees farenheit. we went for a walk along to the horse shoe falls which are lit up at night. it is only a 1o minute walk from where we are staying.
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada rachandkev... stand there for about a minute and be completely soaked, poncho or no poncho. Extremely intense moment. We decided not to take part of Maid of the Mist because of cost and the fact that we were freezing from standing near the falls, and if we did the boat ride, who knows how much worse off we would have been. Rather than see Toronto, we got too excited and wanted to get to Ann Arbor, MI and see our friends at The University of Michigan... -Jason
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada jtopping... included access to the famed 'Maid of the Mist' boat tour, 'Journey behind the falls', the white water walk and 'Niagara's Fury', a theme park style attraction illustrating the creation of the falls. Later in the day we decided to go on the aerocar, a cable car crossing the whirl pools and rapids in the Niagara Gorge, about 2 miles downstream of the American Falls! the rapids are some of the most dangerous in the world, at category 6. We Began with Niagara's Fury, I was ...
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada whernside... a boat trip, you head up the river, get very wet under the horseshoe falls and head back. It does exactly what it says on the tin. From continually adjusting my hood so I could see I ended up with a fair amount of waterfall up my sleeves which I was wringing out for a while afterwards. After that and a walk up through tacky central we had a couple of games of pool in ...
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada paulleck1975... traditional reserved clothing and hair and sensible shoes and some all dolled up like american movie stars. There were even a few of those really religious families like the Duggers, the boys all in polos and the girls all long-haired and long-skirted. I'm amazed by the diversity of ethnic food, even in such a touristy place. There doesn't seem to be many chain restaurants like you'd find on I-Drive or something, but that might be just that I don't know what Canadian ...
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada pirategirljack... to visit the area. We plan on it being the Civic holiday in Ontario, however, and throngs of tourists fill the street. We keep driving until parking annex B, about 3 towns over, and return to the Falls by People Mover, a double bus tram that transports people to a from the main attractions. The Horseshoe Falls are magnificent by night, and beautifully lit up for the holiday, with a mixture of some of the strongest lights in the world, and FIREWORKS! They have fireworks tonight ...
