We left Geneva in the rain and headed through quite interesting small town/winery/farming country for a couple of hours until crossing a bridge over Lake Erie we saw the spray of Niagara Falls... and the skyline of casinos and observatory towers. A short queue at the border crossing into Canada on the Rainbow Bridge and a few circles of the tacky …

... spend in the car in one go. Fortunately this is probably the single biggest drive we have planned. After an overnight in a hotel, we drove the short(!) 90 minutes down to the Falls. We stopped at the 7 Eleven to get something to drink and to stretch our legs. The gas prices in Canada will make a grown man cry. I'm so glad we stopped and filled our truck before we went across the border. We finally arrived in Niagara Falls, Canada around 5:30 pm and we still have time to visit the falls.

... up on the US side. YIKES!

We took another ride in the Maid of the Mist and the ponchos provided kept us dry for the most part. It's like an amusement park ride but with awesome, up close, views of the American and Canadian falls. Later that night we returned to see the falls lit up in colors of the rainbow. As I was looking at the falls, I waited for some fairies to fly by and maybe a unicorn but that never happened. Very ...
