L.a for a day
so I've decided to set off on a 6 month journey around the world. I've just arrived in los angeles. Flight was a little bumpy but no worries. so my first destination is somewhat uneventful other than the fact that I'm sitting next to a women who definitely seems like a working girl. I just finished my first manhatten and I'm listening to this girl …
Los Angeles May 20, 2010
Doreendev stayed here on May 20, 2010 during their trip titled: The deVillalvilla's China Adventure.
Star Struck
In the morning we took a 2 hour tour of the Paramount studios with one of our tour guides named 'Chad', oh I'm in America!
Each studio gate has huge doors called Elephant Doors, which block out the sound of all that is outside. As we passed one of the studios where they are filming a Nickelodean kids programme, we were invited onto the set and …
Los Angeles
Today we started by walking along the beach at Santa Barbara but it was really windy. We then had around a 2 hour drive to LA but we were too early to check in so we went to see the Hollywood sign.
Today we're staying at the Crowne Plaza LAX which is near the airport and away from the main areas so we don’t really have time to see …
Two days in one
After sleeping very peacefully, my alarm went off at 4:45 a.m. As I got ready for the long plane ride ahead of me, Courtney called from one of the other rooms and said we should meet in the lobby at 5:15 to be on the safe side. Josie met up with us too. We took the shuttle back to the international gate of the airport, only to find it completely …

The facility was very clean and my accommodations were extremely comfortable. I had a nice one-night stay.

Stay next door
Its $11 to park the car...and the whole process of getting in and out of the parking garage is crazy. For a hotel of this size, there is not enough people working the desk. The carpet in the room was in bad shape, and the lady ahead of me was complaining about the carpet in her room as well. On the other hand, it is quiet for having the planes fly right by your window. And it is convenient. But there are several other hotels on Century Blvd. that I would stay at next time. Its not up to par with other Crowne Plazas I have stayed at in the past.
The best pre-flight stop we have had
We stayed here on 9 March 2004 before our flight back to London next day. It has to be the best value for money hotel stay we have ever had. We have absolutlely no criticism of any aspect of the hotels facilities which we used . Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bistro type dining on the ground floor suited our needs for light, pre-flight eating perfectly. We were able to extend our check-out time by 3 hours without charge for a later departure. Free Courtesy Shuttle to the Terminal. All for $69/?39 . We wonder sadly why we can't get deals like this in the UK and the rest of Europe.
Rooms seemed old and need updating
I stayed at this hotel in January and was quite unimpressed with the room. It seemed like it needed a major overhall especially the bathrooms. The walls are paper thin and we could hear planes and EVERYTHING that was going on in the room next door. We stayed 2 years ago at the LAX Radisson and were very satisfied with their hotel which has been totally redone.
Much to my surprise, I recommend it...
I needed to go to LA on the cheap and got a great package on Hotwire including a stay at the Crowne Plaza by the airport. I fully expected to get what I paid for. I've never stayed at an airport hotel and was dreading the experience. However, the Crowne Plaza was actually really nice. It was quiet, the staff was pleasant, and it had a surprisingly nice decor. (The rooms didn't have any 80s teal or mauve textiles -- I lost the bet on that one.) Best things? Watching the planes going RIGHT by our window (like I said, you can't hear them, so it's very surreal and fun) and ordering pizza from room service (they have an EXCELLENT pizza place in the hotel). If you need to stay by the airport (or want to save some money), this is a really nice hotel. I'd highly recommend it.
Terrible Stay
I had booked the hotel through Hotwire and cost me about 50 bucks. I only had to stay there for a few hours because of my flight schedule.
When I checked in, I told the hotel rep that I was checking out early.
He told me that I had to pay an early check out fee of 50 bucks. Who ever heard of such a thing??!! To make a long story short, the time I could've used to rest before my flight was wasted on waiting for a manager to complain about the fee. When I finally got to talk to the manager, he said that the hotel rep was wrong to charge the fee. The fee pertained to a cancellation fee. So, that was the mixup. For compensation, the manager offered a free movie. You have got to be kidding me. I was already checking out, and he offers a movie. Nice gesture but ridiculous.
Excellent staff, best place to stay by airport
I have stayed at the crowne plaza at least five times in the last couple years, and have enjoyed my stay each time. The rooms updated, very clean, and the service and staff has always been excellent. If you can get a great rate, take it! Best value, even if you have to drive to go to attractions!

Excellent
Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning and end of our honeymoon.
Prompt shuttle bus service, lovely lobby and restaurant. The rooms are excellent and the beds are MASSIVE!!. The only negative is that there isnt anything really around apart from other hotels and a burger king.
But if it's just for the airport then this is a great place to stay
Crowne Plaza-LAX
My wife and I stayed at this hotel twice within the year and consider it a very nice place to stay. The room was quiet and we slept peacefully with no exterior noise or disturbance. The hotel staff that processed our reservation was very friendly, helpful, and serious in making us feel comfortable. At the end of our stay when we were checking out, she inquired about our stay and asked how was the room.
We answered her and she was very happy to learn that we were happy. She said she was concerned and wanted us to have a nice and quiet room.
During our stay, she provided helpful information for us to get around the city. I would seriously consider returning to stay in this hotel whenever we are down there again in Los Angeles; however, there is just one negative remark here. The parking fee is a bit expensive at $8.00.
I Love this Hotel !
I have stayed at this Hotel for years. The rooms smell clean, and the Breakfast Buffet excellent. The hot tub is great and the pool is big and nice. You can usually go swmming till 10 pm at night. If you ask for a quiet room, you'll get it and sleep like a baby, you won't even hear the airplanes taking off.
