... reasons.
Hellooo I tried to book an airline ticket with my card, this is one of the reasons I have a card, to book things online.
Anyway they unblocked my card I got my ticket and all is well.
But don't you love the banking system here. They are so security conscious that if you try to use your card they block it so you don't get ripped off.
Never mind I will be in Thailand soon, hot sun, cold beer and all will be fine with the world.
Afetr and early start thanks to a wake up call from 'Freinds', we headed off to Beeston. We visited Beeston Castle courtesy of the Poyntons.
Spectacular veiws from the hill top and castle site.

... rides, all kind of fairground style.
Meanwhile, Mark took a visit to the casino. He is not a fan at all of Blackpool! Apparently too many "lower socio-economic" people around. Admittedly, there were a few skanks, but hey, if we were all the same then life would be very boring, right!? Anyway, he managed to win back the money we lost over the wrong accommodation booking (Marky factor).
Of course we had to have fish and chips with mushy ...
... has several colleges and is full of students. The next day I visited the harbor and the National Maritime and Slavery Museum. The museum was very informative and moving. I never knew that Liverpool was one of the main places they sent ships from to get slaves in Africa. On my last day I went back to the harbor with Derek to visit the Beatles Story museum! It was really great and each room transformed into an interactive display of an important place or event in the Beatles lives ...

its a constant battle to keep the poor guy awake or stop him using the floor as a toilet but its one the nursing staff enjoy.Particularly as Albert is worth £ 5 million, the owner of a huge biscuit empire before going crackers,"i love a custard creme ya know" he constantly tells us as he jumps up and down on the spot, naked.

... that the Titanic had sunk. I didn't even know it had anything to do with Liverpool The Superlambbanna - This is a lovely piece of art that i guess is a pretty big deal in Liverpool. Its a half lamb and half banana that has been in the city forever and it was supposed to warn against what might happen if we mess with genetic engineering. I LOVE IT! I guess thats pretty much all we saw. There is still the Magical Mystery Tour that we have to do when we go back... the ...
Liverpool, England, United Kingdom dani_gosick... was guy playing Beatles' songs, and other classics, and it was just a great feeling, to be in this famous little bar, where the biggest rock n roll band of all time basically started. The Cavern (as its name suggests) is underground. It was an old storage warehouse, so it's totally bricked, with arches dividing the three "rooms." Man it was hot - no windows of course. Apparently, one time the Beatles were playing it was so packed and so hot, that the ...
Liverpool, England, United Kingdom couplakiwis... Hotel and had fantastic accommodation. More about that later. We had a short breather and then went on a 2.5 hour tour with a a local guide by coach. This cost about £7.00 each but was worth it. We went right through Liverpool. Only about 500,000 people live here which surprised me. Were taken around the Liverpool Cathedral which i enjoyed. Was very chilly outside and we had our coats on. We continued around the city with the many ...
Liverpool, United Kingdom warwicksoption... quickly after the game as we had scored corporate tickets to the game at Anfield. The home games are always sold out well in advance so we felt very privelidged to be part of the action. We had dinner in the Champions Room before the game and then walked into the stadium that was full to capacity (50,000). It was great to hear the songs and to watch the Liverpool banner slowly make it's way up ...
