Conference in Kuwait

... fit for a sheik, that we were served during the long days spent at the conference... and hanging out on the world's largest wooden boat, which happened to be the site of the conference reception, held after our first day of training... It is a beautiful work of art that is dry docked on the coast near the conference facilities that hosted us... a stones throw from one of the many palaces for the Emir of Kuwait...  My evenings were spent taking interesting jogs along the coast ...

Kuwait - Safe to visit!

Despite the turbulence of its recent history, Kuwait today is once again beginning to reflect its status as an oil-rich nation. In 1990 Iraq claimed Kuwait as its 19th province, but the Iraqis were expelled by a United States led alliance in a short war in 1991, and now the country is separated from its threatening neighbor by a wall along its border. The ruined capital, Kuwait City, has risen from the ashes of war to become a buzzing metropolis with gleaming high rises ...

More benefits of the Hilton

Well, there are more benefits of the Hilton. First, there are women in bikinis who are not related to the people at work. I didn't go to the Ramadan tent for dinner, but you could eat out on the beach. Now it is time to go home.

Hard Rock Cafe

And with the Hilton being closer to the city, it is a quick trip to eat at restaurants up there as well. Back to the Hard Rock - a great deal - all food is 50% off during Ramadan. At least one good thing during Ramadan. Met up with my old technical manager from my chemical plant days. Wasn't expecting to run into him over here.

More Training

Hi again everyone! I've been doing some training on Checkpoint ops and a range, so I haven't had a chance to update recently. I'm doing fine, we finally got a morning off! not really anything new to report, just that Christina tells me that the address that I have on here might not be right, more on that as it develops. I hope to soon have a digicam, so when that happens, I'll make sure to put more pictures up on this for everyone. I'll update again when I can.

Packing Up

... for a little Halloween celebration. Justin Cohen, a friend of mine from UT as well as a co-worker, is doing his project in Brussels, so I always have a friend here to run around with. We spent our three day weekend kicking back in lovely Amsterdam. Amazing! After the long weekend, I was very anxious to find out where they would be sending me. I told them that I really wanted to stay in Gulf, but you don't really get that much of a choice. I found out I was going to Kuwait, and ...
