This is a good hotel. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, the room was clean and the price was reasonable. No complaints. It's in a pretty good location, you can walk to the lake. It's not too far to walk to the center, but you are not right in the middle of the shopping district, so you may want to take a taxi once in a while. The taxis aren't too expensive in Hamburg though.
They rent bikes also, which is nice, although for some reason they don't maintain them all - around half of the bikes were out of service when we wanted them, so we had to wait for some others to come back.
There is are some good restaurants within walking distance - we especially enjoyed Cox, Lange Reihe 68.
Really great hotel!
This hotel was really good. Typical of the group. I stayed one night ... would have loved to have stayed more. The bar and restaurant were both very good and breakfast was well varied. All staff were courteous and very attentive. The room was a fair size and had a proper desk and chair. I did think parking was a bit expensive.
Couldn`t faullt it at all
Nice location - lots of great bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
Staff exceptionally friendly - and some English staff as well.
Breakfast was an enormous choice, one of the best I`ve ever seen.
The hotel sells the Hamburg Card which is very good value giving free transport and discounts on attractions. For our party of 4 adults it cost about 11 euros each for 4 days.
The room was typically `business` but was exceptionally clean and had blackout curtains.
I would definitely stay there again.
Nice Hotel for Tourism & Business
Very nice hotels in not a far distance to the center of Hamburg. Seven floors with a very nice atrium in the middle with a glass roof on top.
Rooms are very good for the 4-star-standard of the hotel, nice bathroom, most rooms have a desk for some work.
Price are very okay (we paid 89 € for one night incl. breakfast), car parking is 18 € for 24 hours (it is also possible to park right on the street, but there's hard to find some space). Breakfast was very delicious, really worth it's money. People in the hotel very helpful, gave us some informations about Hamburg.
So, all in all very recomendable High-Class-Hotel with good prices right in the middle of the town (just takes 4 stations by bus to the main shopping street and harbour, Express-Line-Station just 50 meters away).
Great hotel, would stay there again
I stayed with my sister at the Cowne Plaza when we went to Hamburg for a long weekend. We paid 99 € including breakfast. The room was really nice and new, the bathroom was excellent. The breakfast was super, really worth paying for. The staff was friendly, and spoke good english.
The location was easy to get to, we took the airport express bus (110) to Ohlsdorf, and then the S1 train, changed to the U2 at Barmbek, and got off at Uhlandstrasse.
The main railwaystation and the beginning of the shoppingarea was 15 minutes away (walking).
Loved the hotel
We were a group of 4 women visiting Hamburg in February 2005, and were staying at the Crowne Plaza, sharing 2 double-rooms.
Convenient location, nicely renovated rooms. Very helpful stuff. Delicious breakfast buffet.
I can recommend it, it's worth the money.
Just a normal hotel form the outside, but very nicely finished inside. The rooms are just like every other 'business' hotel you ever stayed in but a recent refurbishment means that the rooms are immaculate. Leather chair at the desk, mini hi-fi, some really nice touches. Of course, giant German pillows too - you have to love them. There is a small pool, no good for proper swimming but relaxing decor. Staff helpful and indulged my rubbish attempts at German.

Yep, as suspected it was a sleep in for Lyndon this morning (11:00am!!!) while I on the other hand was fresh as a daisy. So although we had planned to go into town to do some more sightseeing we spent pretty much all day hanging around the house. Poor Annette will be glad to see the back of us tomorrow.
Once Mali was home from school we headed across town for a family trip to Circus Roncalli (not the animal kind, well except for some horses). We had really great ...
Another sleep in for us again, so another morning having a late breakfast with Annette. We eventually got ourselves organised enough to leave the house so we headed into town on the train to visit Miniature World. I must admit I really didn't think that I would enjoy it but was happy to go as I knew the kids would find it fun …. but it was great. The first section showed the same town through different eras, which was interesting to see. Then there was a section on how a town ...
... city. Hamburg has the second largest port in Europe, which I find odd because it's a hell of a way from the ocean. But needless to say it's big, and Miniature Wonderland was located in a warehouse in the old port at the edge of the city centre. It took about 25 minutes to get there, and mercifully the rain held off, which was a surprise given how grey it was. I knew I'd gotten where I needed to be given there were a heap of fathers and their young sons congregating in the ...
