I was excited to come back to Singapore. It has been about 10 years from my last trip, and it has changed so much.
On the first day, we went to Singapore flyer. It is a giant observation wheel where you can see Singapore skyline and learn about Singapore culture. The whole experience lasts for about 35 minutes and costs us $30/person. I really suggest you to go to Singapore flyer if you come here for a short period of time.
The rest of the day we just hanged out in Suntec City. It ...
Singapore zoo is fantastic. Got there early and saw the Orangutang breakfast. Fed the elephants and had an elephant ride.
Botanical gardens were good but we were a bit foot sore from the zoo. A bit hot also.
Little India was very interesting. Bit overpowering but fascinating.
Saw Prue (Kevans) and Tim last night for a drink.
Had lots of interesting food. Megan is delighted! But has tried a few new things.
Off to Paris tonight. 13 hours on the plane!
Will post photos asap.
Hello everyone Didn't expect to be back so soon, but we now have a rather long wait before our connecting flight to Denpasar, and thought it would kill time to make use of the free internet provided here. I love Singapore already; the ladies on the plane and in the airport are friendly, as is the voice announcing the depatures and arrivals of the sky train who sounds like she used to read the news for the BBC! There is relaxing music playing, and free paper which you can stamp with various or...

Hey all!

Well it's now Thursday night, although our confused little bodies think it's Thursday morning. It's a balmy sweaty muggy 26 degrees in Singapore and we're almost home!

So we woke up this morning (doesn't seem like that long ago, but with the time differences it was over 24 hours ago!) in Luton. Had a nice big brekkie and my last hot shower before heading home. We wandered up to the ...
Singapore, Singapore bronandjosh09... factors interplayed as well) we ended up getting to Marina Bay, about and hour and a half late meaning that we couldn't get to the viewing area as anticipated meaning we spent several hours wandering the streets of Marina Bay with thousands of other Singaporeans trying to find a place to view the celebrations. I like to be organised (almost to the point of obsessive but anyway!) and when confronted with unexpected and unwanted obstacles I do get infuriated! This was ...

Singapore, Singapore frechdaxxx... in
Singapore had a fruity smell mixed in with the AC (super bizarre to
me). Despite seeing signs everywhere warning you about fines, the
city really isn't that different from any other city.

After a very full day, we contemplated
doing another marathon day since we would have to spend another day
out of the apartment until 10pm and decided against it. There is an
island just off Singapore that you can ride in a sky pod thing to
get to ...
Singapore, Singapore carrienica05... read by a lazar pen held to my head due to the recent outbreak of Swine Flu. It showed I had a temperature of 35.8 degrees, which was surprisingly cool seeing as Singapore is along on the equator! In the evening, I took a twenty minute MRT ride, then a 45 minute bus ride to the Night Safari Park. I'd heard it was a safari park rather than a zoo, which technically it was, but the enclosures were no where near large ...
Singapore, Singapore eddiemetal... hawker's markets in the city, a collection of food stalls (numbering in the hundreds) in an open but roofed market. Food choices ranged from sweet potato dumplings, to burgers, to rice/noodle based dishes, to pig's organ soup. Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Italian, Indian, Japanese, American, etc. etc. etc... Several vendors had roasted whole ducks displayed in a heated case. The food is quite good, inexpensive, and undeniably authentic ...
Singapore, Singapore dan.melanie... period of restful shut-eye in our hotel was our only priority. You can then well imagine that the shrill ring of the bedside phone at 8:30am on Sunday morning that roused us out of our comatose state was hardly a welcome intrusion. Groggily picking up the receiver it appeared that while I could hear the male caller OK, he was not so easily able to hear me. After some confusion I worked out that my hand was muffling the bottom end of the phone. The caller subsequently ...
