WW and I drove across western NC. Got to a town called Statesville and went into J&R Cigars, billed as the World's largest cigar store. They ain't lying. BIg ol' CHurchills for $3 (or less).

We camped at Lake Norman, land donated to the State of NC by the Duke Power company as long as the state let them leave their nuke there. No pics. Suprisingly nice campground.

We left Atlanta shortly before 11 am today and had a rather uneventful trip up I-85 to Charlotte. We took a short detour to Cornelius to visit my cousin Eloise Crawford. We had a good time reminiscing about church camps at Maryville College, back when we were "Northern Presbyterians." She reminded me that my brother, John, always had the job of ringing the bell in Anderson tower at dinner time and for other important events such as classes and vespers. We enjoyed our evening with Eloise.

... and some complex carbohydrates (bean burritos) and then I started to feel a little better. We decided it was better to stay in the hotel that day, and we did - we spent the whole day sleeping and relaxing - and went out to dinner at the Tradewinds restaurant in Lincolnton - the food was great and we had the nicest waitress. Went back to bed and finished a good days rest with a good night's sleep...

... kayak, canoe, read, cook, work on my house and yard, and goof-off with Ella. ... here - and me in between my move. Ok back to Thursday night, Juice and I packed the Jeep and brought the "left behind boxes" to the condo. I have a picture of what is there. After our work was done we headed over to Midtown for one last time said goodbye to several good friends I have made there and shared a few beers. It was an emotional moment to say the least. As of this morning I now have a place to live in Regina I also now have 4 complete windows in the Jeep! I've included pictures of my new house. The address is: Rachel Liste 2728 Reynolds Street Regina, SK Canada S4N 3P4 My house is a 450sq ft house with one floor and an unfinsihed basement. The rent is $750 per month and it has a garage. It is close to the park - not sure which park yet - but it has a lake and something called the Science Center.

... mom suprised me and we celebrated my birthday (did I mention it was October 12th). She made a great dinner, homemade French Onion Soup! And birthday presents to boot! I now have a map of Western Canada and a Travel Guide to Canada too! Yeah! Still looking for a place to live - just responded to an ad for a 450 sq ft house! That is small!
