Kim's experience to the start of the vacation:
Friday. The day I've been waiting for all week. I’d been in San Antonio, TX since Monday for a work conference. Friday. The day I get to go home and pack for Alaska. I arrive at the airport at 9am which is 2 hours ahead of my departure, planning to throw on my headphones and listen to some tunes while I get some steps in by walking the airport concourse.

The first flight from Sydney to Dallas took off at 3pm. It took over 14 hours. As we were flying with Qantas we had our own mini entertainment system in front of each seat. These systems are brand new and made for the air bus A380. This is a double decked plane, capable of making the longest flight without refueling.

... We went straight to the hotel – econolodge, got our rooms, unpacked, used internet, got ready for the
next day, then back on the coach and we went off to dinner. Dinner was at the old country buffet. It was ok, nothing special. We then got back on the coach and did a tour of downtown, we saw the capital building and back to the hotel. I went to a room party, had a few drinks, played uno, used the internet and went to bed.

It's really exciting to see people's pictures who have been there for a week and read Erica & Tina's blogs! I know that next semester is going to go incredibly fast so I can't wait to make the most of it! Next time I make an entry, I'll be in Spain!
