... been up there. We then wandered on to state street. They had quite a lot of quirky little independent shops. Me and jenny stopped for a warm up hot chocolate & coffee whilst Wendy browsed the shoe shop. We then headed inside of a center of the arts building where they hold theatre shows occasionally through the summer. Had a very cool stair case round the edge which looks over the middle part and down into one of the stages. I was determined to get a top of some ...

Mark and Bailey headed off to Indianna at about 4.30am to go to a Motorcross event at Crawfordsville. The rest of us had some breakfast and then Steve came over and him and Monti took their bikes for a run, with the rest of us following in the car.

First stop, The Slurp and Burp, which is a pub out in the middle of nowhere. As it was Saturday, it was quite crowded. We had a couple of drinks there and then Jodi got on the back of Monti's ...

          Madison/Mount Horeb/Milwaukee - 8th Day

There's time for one more lunchtime get-together with Mavis before we have to drive to Milwaukee for our 5pm flight.

Mount Horeb (mostly Norwegians) is this little town just outside
Madison and is called the "Troll Capital of the World". The main street
is called the "Trollway" and troll statues can be found all through ...

Fair then purchased and moved to Little Norway in 1935. We would love to
live in it. The whole place was old and magical, tucked into the woods
and we wanted to stay forever.

Mavis wanted to take us to a local vineyard for a wine tasting but
unfortunately they were closed so we went to the liquor store she owns
in Mineral Point, Willie's Liquors, and ...

... I sat with a couple of people and had some enjoyably awkward conversation, a specialty of scientists.

First lecture set was pretty good, only nodded off a couple of times I think. Then maybe there were some more lectures I think...then it was lunch!

Sat with some people from Seattle at lunch, and had some much less awkward conversation which was nice. Sat with them at the next lecture ...
