Just a short drive from our hotel, we visited the Burj Khalifa. A spectacular site, indeed. Tourist shops and other restaurants (inlcuding the nicest and most ridiculous Red Lobster on the planet--no kidding!) The site also included a water show with trraditional music that is better than the show infont of the Bellagio in Vegas for sure.

We departed Brussels Midi train station on a rainy Saturday evening. Arrived in Paris for a late connection for the redeye to Dubai. Ultimately though, I loved Dubai but was kind of bored by it at the same time. Whereas in London, you find yourself complaining about every facet of life but it's utterly enthralling all the while. We went to see from the outside of course, the Burj Al Arab; this is the first 7 star hotel in the world, it is 321meters high, it is shaped like a sail and is situated on an Island 300 meters off the coast.
