The Crowne Plaza was a perfect place to overnight before a long flight.
The shuttle was available early and took us quickly right to our departure entrance for check in.
The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly and attentive, and the lunch and dinner we had was tasty and enjoyable.
The proximity to return our hire car was convenient.
We would recommend to other travellers.

The service and facilities of this hotel were adequate for an overnight stay. I was disappointed that the price of wifi was so extortionate - about $35 for access, and they didn't give a free half-hour as most places do, which would have been great so I could check in for my flight that evening. The room was comfortable and had a great window and a nice view of the runway. Room service was nice and efficient and the bath tub was great! Only other thing was that the air conditioning blew hot air regardless of the temperature setting. This is a big hotel and really exists as a transit stop before flying out. Don't bother using it for any other purpose as there are nicer hotels in the city.

      Last day in England

Drive today from Lincoln across the Pennines on the motorways to airport hotel. All the farm lands now drying out.
Leaving now just when the temperatures are climbing. Never thought I would be glad of air conditioning here in England.
Happy now to be heading home, but slightly apprehensive of getting in an aircraft with all the news dominated by the MAS tragedy.

Off to Manchester after supper to be next to the airport for the early morning flight! Need to check in at 6.40 am (sigh)... But very excited to get on the way! Hoping for an upgrade due to it being my birthday (10th feb), however, will be very surprised if i get one! Fingers crossed. Etihad flight to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi ...

... we both weren't so keen on staying up there too long. The view, however, was wonderful, of Arthur's Chair and the castle and straight down Princes street as well as right out to the Firth of Fourth, it was definitely worth it.

... and cleaning. Still never mind we would be off once doors closed...or not. Commotion. Lots of cabin crew moving to the back of airplane and back again. Captain out of cockpit again. The stairs to the aircraft were moved back into place again. This wasn't looking good. Turns out that a family (one with a medical problem) had to be unloaded from the aircraft which seemed to take for ages as their bags had to be found as well. Captain walking through the cabin ...
