Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport
Travel Blogs from Manchester
Drive today from Lincoln across the Pennines on the motorways to airport hotel. All the farm lands now drying out.
Leaving now just when the temperatures are climbing. Never thought I would be glad of air conditionin here in England.
Happy now to be heading home, but slightly apprehensive of getting in an aircraft with all the news dominated by the MAS tragedy.
Yes I finally arrived, 15 minutes early. Not much to say at this point except everything is so green here, and I want to sleep for three days. Goodnight!
Thanks to my lovely man, who managed to safely deposit a very tetchy nervous jasmine to the airport.
We drove down on Saturday teatime after a last minute stop off to Tracys to fax info for my hotel when i got there! Thanks Tracy (your always such a star)
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza, and I'm really glad we had that timeto just relax …
7.30 am and waiting at departures. Got through security. I must have a honest face and both Beckey and Jon were searched and I was left alone. Need to board now..
Off to Manchester airport on Transpennie Express to stop the night before departure to Singapore

The service and facilities of this hotel were adequate for an overnight stay. I was disappointed that the price of wifi was so extortionate - about $35 for access, and they didn't give a free half-hour as most places do, which would have been great so I could check in for my flight that evening. The room was comfortable and had a great window and a nice view of the runway. Room service was nice and efficient and the bath tub was great! Only other thing was that the air conditioning blew hot air regardless of the temperature setting. This is a big hotel and really exists as a transit stop before flying out. Don't bother using it for any other purpose as there are nicer hotels in the city.
