After leaving the cabin, I crossed back over the Neva to make my way again to the Rumantsiev Mansion blockade museum. My resolve held until I got to the Hermitage when I realised it was quite a walk and I still needed to pack. Plus I felt tired. God knows how many miles I had trod this past week. I admitted defeat and turned around. Next time I'm here I'll get there dammit!

We had our meeting the with tour group, of which there is about 50 people, however the people in our hotel are split into 2 groups, 1group comprised of Americans and our group of Australian’s… and Luke, an Irishman and 2 South Africans. We are quite pleased about the split. We later found out there is a third group on Americans in a different hotel.
Underneath the hotel there was a little 24hr supermarket,which had quite a lot of stuff in it, however ...

When the bill came and Marty charged the dinner, the waiter said, "You give me cash--ten percent!" "No we do not," we said and left.
So you don't always get what you pay for. The food was good though. And how often do you get to try sturgeon?

The evening ended sitting in a park listening to some live music (and maybe one or two vodkas) performed by a 3 fingered guitar player. Melissa told me it doesn’t get dark in St Petes at this time of year so it was hard to judge when to leave – at midnight it is as bright as it was at 3pm!

The captain has warned of high winds tonight so might be a bit rough – it’s been like a mill pond so far.
We caught the 9pm show which was a circe du soleil style show and was probably one of the best we have ever seen so far which was excellent. Had a few cocktails at the show and then a late night snack before retiring. Saved an hour today as the clocks go ...
