Pass if you can
Had a 3 night stay at this hotel via PCLN.
Parking very tight
Rooms need refurbishing
Thin walls allowed for noises to be heard in rooms next door
Beds are very springy and overworn
Pool/Fitness center dirty and small
Charges incorrect on my bill for parking - $124 for a 3 night stay?
Nice looking lobby (but doesn't make up for inadequate rooms)
Front Desk allowed room change due to complaint with beds in 1st room
Consider the many options available to you before booking a stay here. Think twice before booking with PCLN or Hotwire in Sea-Tac area. PCLN considers this Holiday Inn a 3 star.
Horrible experience all around at Holiday In by Sea-Tac airport
We had a cockroach in our room one night. And on a monday night at 9pm there was no hot water. The front desk hung up on us when we called to tell them about it. After we complained a whole lot we finally got a maint. man to check on it. All he had to say was "there's too many people showering now" Which is really strange for a monday night. I wonder what happens when they get really buzy. We picked this one because it had a 3 star rating. But I wish we had stayed at the motel 6 down the road. Because it couldn't have gotten much worse. The manager promised to call me back, but never did. I emailed holiday inn and all they had to say was "Sorry, please pick us again" Ya right! The building was bad, parking expensive, and limited, bad food at the breakfast buffet. All in all the worst hotel experience i ever had. And we didn't even get any money back. How crumby is that?
We obtained this hotel through priceline for very cheap, and I was still disappointed. I was tempted to rate it only 1 star, but I guess I've seen worse. Nonetheless, low points included stains on the floors, shabby looking rooms and dreary looking halls. They were in the process of renovating the lobby area....hopefully they do the rest of the hotel while they are at it!
Fast Shuttle Service from & to the Airport
My stay was Oct. 28-31, 2004. nice lobby, desk clerks tried to be helpful. room was very clean, nothing fancy....how about some ventilation in the bathrooms of motel rooms???. bar drinks were expensive, breakfast buffet was very good & reasonable, local calls from motel room ridiculous price!, glad i had my cell for personal calls. All in all this was a decent place to stay. Prices for soft drinks (in machines), bar drinks, local calls from motel room were my main gripe! If you are in town for touring only I would suggest something in downtown Seattle. I was in town for business & some pleasure & the bus rides & shuttles are very time consuming for touring. This motel is only convenient to the Airport, Nothing else.
Okay but nothing special -- a bit shabby overall
First things first -- the lobby is much nicer than the rest of the hotel. (I guess it's like a bait and switch)
Of course, I don't really expect a lot from hotels near the airport but there really does need to be some attention given to the common hallways and even the rooms at this hotel.
The halls are gouged and bumped with luggage marks everywhere and it just looks careless. The elevators are very narrow and lend themselves to being a claustrophobic's nightmare.
The rooms are tired looking but clean -- just sort of cheesy looking. The bathrooms especially -- who put up the tacky pink shower curtains???
I did find the notice in the bathrooms about taking items without paying for them to be quite funny. Also, the tile floors in the bathrooms needed to be bleached -- the grout was looking unclean.
Lastly, the parking fee for overnight guests is stupid. They've got a big enough lot and are just trying to stick guest with an additional charge.
Great place, beautiful atmosphere
My husband and I stayed here with some friends in December 2002 and we all thought it was wonderful. The room was clean and confortable, the pool and spa were nice, and I can't say enough about the rotating resturant. This was one of the most memorable places I've ever been. The view was beautiful and the singing waitresses were wonderful!! I HIGHLY recommend this place if you're staying in Seattle!
Not as bad as it looks
If you ignore the hallways on the way to your room, the worst will be over
My room was clean and quite, considering it is adjacent to Sea-Tac Airport. The staff was very accomodating and moved me to a different room upon request.
The only complaint I had, was no hi-speed internet in the guestrooms. Surprising for the tech capital that Seattle is.
I'd stay again if I had to be at the ariport quick.
Same old Holiday Inn
Rooms still felt old, even though were remodeled. The room was stuffy when we first entered. The front desk were not very accomodating or friendly. Queen beds would be nice. Shuttle to airport was efficient. Once was enough for this hotel.
Great stay over
I usually stay at one of the high end hotels downtown, but decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Seatac International for the night before flight stay over and found it very satisfactory and one of the best deals I have ever found.
Near the airport...
Stayed at the HI near the SeaTac airport twice in August, 2003, several days before going to Vancouver (for a cruise) and one day post cruise.
Accomodations were OK. Front desk staff were not all that friendly.
Being new to Seattle I actually had the nerve to ask a few questions about the city, and they seemed rather annoyed. The hotel was a distance from town, but very convient to the airport (and shuttle to Vancouver).

... one which we have used frequently, I can not see my mirrors. Suddenly, a car squeezes between me and the guard rail! I am riding right of the rumble strips due to the lane closure and there is little room for this jerk to pass on the right. I am startled and have to swerve between the slender orange cones that mark the lane. Luckily there is no obstacle in my path. I am so angry that this guy would think it OK to pass on the right, ...
... joking. We did not find this funny, as we were both frantically googling if we need one and how to get a visa. At least he was cute and had a nice smile.
Freak-out #2- We are sitting at opposite ends of the plane. Why would you separate us?! Luckily, when we talked to the woman behind the counter at the gate, she was able to get us a center aisle all to ourselves. 14 hours of being sprawled out and sleeping was very nice.
Freak-out #3- ...
Back again folks.
It seems so long ago that Paul and I left our home, but I guess so much has happened in that time.
We experienced our first inter city train yesterday called Amtrak, coming down from Vancouver B.C to Seattle in the State of Washington as the map hopefully depicts.

It has become harder to take a vacation together these days. Kids are older, and grandparents are older, it's hard to find a vacation to suit everyone. But we are fortunate to go on this trip, the whole family plus grandpa
