Next Up.....Greenwood for Sophie and Emery, several graduation open houses, Pearson leaves with the youth from FPCH to go to Chicago on a Mission Trip and Kirk heads up north for a week of rest, reflection and a chance to ride the trail he will be running in August for his marathon.

... br> We picked up our train tickets and some of our hotel reservations last week as well. This week we are hoping to finalize places we want to see so we can purchase tickets ahead of time....recommended for some of the busier places we want to see in Italy. Truthfully though, knowing how we have traveled in the past, somethings we might not decide to do until we're there and that's okay with us.

It's May 31st and Kirk just finished his day at church! He is officially on Sabbatical until after Labor Day. Thank you to the people at First Presbyterian Church of Holt for the wonderful gifts and the Pie Send off! Delicious! ... really pricey, but I found a kitchen tool, and Mom found a bowl, a plate, and an antique grabber. Then we ate lunch at this delicious cafe, went to another antique store with the coolest dog (he looked like a polar bear!) but it didn't have any good stuff, and then we went to a home store where Mom got a discounted rug because it had Charlie, the dog's, hair on it.

... exactly half of all the US States. Even without Mexico thrown in, that is a hell of a trip!
We had to say, these 'lake folk' of Indiana and Michigan know how to do a 'lake town', there were lots of 'cottagy' type restaurants and stores, though many weren't open for the season yet. There were also big sand dunes, and beaches, high vistas and even a nuclear plant thrown in, just to get us back to that old Lake Huron feeling! We split the beach at ...
