I have already written about The Jungle Restaurant in the Mactan Island section. The Mactan Shrine is amazing, with statue of Lapu Lapu and the story of Lapu Lapu. Many gift shops and souivner shops. Great place for buying those little items to take home.

Traveling to Mactan Island was the best. Great island with lots of diving, snorkling, clear water, white sand beaches. Loved it very much. Lot of history and Culture of the Philippines there.
I had many great times there, Mactan Shrine, Seeing the Famous Guitar Shops, Jet Ski on the sso very clear blue waters of the island.
Island hopping. But one of the best experiences was at The Jungle Restaurant and Entertainment.

... lyodessa edelleen agressiivisesti aluksen ikkunoihin (jokaisen pudotuksen jalkeen) ja keulan noustessa uusiin korkeuksiin tuli mieleen etta "Kai tama on ihan normaalia?" - Ei ollut.
Aluksen runko alkoi pitamaan epailyttavaa aanta aaltojen iskeytyessa veneen pohjaan. "Kylla se kestaa" ajattelin - olihan alus valmistettu metallista ja kokenut varmaan ennenkin kovaa merenkayntia. Meno kuitenkin jatkui entisenlaisena ...

Manilassa kayttamamme taxikuski kiteytti sen kai parhaiten tokaisemalla etta ei pida Manilasta koska siella: "It's all about the money". Ollaan myos jouduttu rikkomaan omaa periaatetta sen ...

For some reason it's unusual travelling alone in this country and a question “where is your companion” is heard many times. There are travelling a lot of Israeli around, so if you are not guessed to be an American, Israeli is the second most likely option. Beer is cheap here, San Miguel heavily prevailing with Red Horse as a 7% alternative. There is a lot of prostitution over here and even ...
On April 7, I was supposed to enter an English school, Philinter and the day before, I flew to Manila by Northwest airlines, because it was cheaper than a direct flight to Cebu. However Nothwest arrived in Ninoi Akino International Airport almost midnight, I had to stay in Manila one night. My hostel was much farther than I had expected. I took a coupon taxi from the airport, although it was quite expensive, but the safest way. However, soon enough, We ran into a trafic jam ...
Mactan Island, Visayas, Philippines misocutlet... when your traveling you lose track of days. It came to my attention it was already Saturday. So meaning I would be here in Cebu for another week. I wasn't going to allow this. So I booked the trip with Claudia. She suggested Leyte via Cebu Pacific. Which had a cheap 2 for 1 special to Tacloban. Again she said she would offer to accompany me. I agreed and before we knew it we would head to Leyte's main city the next day.
Next Chapter. Spontaneously Leyte
... stay 2 nights in a hotel. I did have a pen pal in Cebu. and would not be meeting them until Monday. So I stayed at the Midtown Hotel. Which was located above the Robinsons Shopping Centre. It was in the City centre, overlooking the giant round a bout. The Hotel was 1600, and well worth it.
Checked into my room and rested. The front desk called and asked if I wanted some sort of massage. Which I declined on the first night, but on my second ...
I had first seen Mactan way back in 1992 — in transit on the way to neighboring Cebu City for my first trip to Central Visayas — but I hadn't the faintest idea I'd have a grand time exploring the island years later. Looking at the swarming shanties along some parts of its coasts from my window seat and seeing from above the sprawl of what seemed like urban blight, the thought of touring the ...
