Historical Traveler Reviews Crown Promenade Hotel Melbourne

Lovely hotel

from mactollcross

We stayed here in what was classed as a standard room and was anything but standard, It was Fantastic!!!

The views were amazing and the time slipped by so easily sitting by the window on the lounger with a glass of wine watching the world go by!!!

The staff were very pleasant and most helpful!!

It is different from the Towers but equally as pleasant to stay in!!!!

Would stay here again and would definately recommend it!!!!

I stayed at the Crown Promenade Hotel in 2004 and I want to confirm that this hotel is definitely a 5 star hotel! Sleek contemporary furniture and comfortable bed, the setting really reflected city chic with flying colours.

Staff was average- not memorable, but not unpleasant. Prompt valet and great location, if you can't justify paying top notch prices for the sister hotel in Crown itself, then this is an excellent alternative that will not disappoint.

Crown for Business

from anonymous

I have stayed at the Crown Promenade on a few occasions for business. I have found it to be very clean, comfortable(with the exception of the pillows) and friendly.

My favourite is to sit on the chaise ond look out over the city.

The mesh restaurant for breakfast is great with lots of variety including hot breakfast, cereal and a variety of cakes and meats.

It is a great area in which to stay due to the Crown complex, although make sure to explore across the Yarra in the city as it is a world of its own. Dont just stick to Southbank.

Magnificent Hotel on the Southbank of Melbourne

from VoyagerRTW

It has been a while since I have last been to Melbourne and when I had to choose a hotel, I chose the Crown Promenade. Driving up to the hotel, the glass exterior glimmered in the setting sun - I was impressed already.

Reception went smooth with very friendly staff. My room was absolutely wonderful with a full floor-to-ceiling window. Sitting at the workdesk, while working, I had a fabulous view over the Crown Casino, Rialto Towers and the rest of the Melbourne skyline. The room was impeccably clean, as was the bathroom.

Room service was prompt, about 25-30 minutes, whenever I made used of it. Mesh Restaurant on the Ground floor was very good with extremely friendly and competent staff.

The "coup de grace" was the health-and fitness centre on the third floor, which I used during my stay. The swimming pool is stunning as well as very functional for swimming laps. The centre is very well equipped and has showers, lockers, a sauna and a steam room in both the male-and female changing rooms. I have never experienced this in any hotel I have stayed in - I have been around the block.

I would recommend this hotel to anybody and will most definitely stay there again in the future.

Wonderful Hotel and Entertainment Complex

from OldFed

The Crown Entertainment Complex is a "must see" in Melbourne. The Crown Promenade is across the street from the complex, close to the restaurants and casino but away from the large crowds and 24-hour activity. (There is a "skywalk" from the hotel to the casino, in case of bad weather.) The Crown Promenade is a beautiful facility. The rooms are superior; the shower stall in the bathroom is HUGE. There is an ice machine on every floor (which we found lacking in a number of Australia/NZ hotels). We highly recommend this hotel for your next visit to Melbourne!

Stunning design, great staff

from anonymous

We stayed at the Promenade for a week in April, for work and play. It was such a pleasant surprise, as the total package was very impressive. The design was very contemporary, but not stark or overly minimilist, so it still felt warm and welcoming. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and extremely efficient. It was quite clear to us that the hotel was very busy but at no time throughout the stay did we have to stand in queues to get served. At all times the staff were very professional, but the service was delivered with a relaxed, friendly nature. None of the formal stuffiness that I have encountered in some hotels of the same star rating or higher.

Whilst it is does not offer the luxury and opulence of Crown Towers, (just over the road), which will always be the place to go for an extra special treat, the Crown Promenade is a great hotel. I will be back again!

Crown Promenade, another option

from anonymous

Try the Crown Promenade Hotel which is behind the Crown Towers, also within the Crown casino complex. not as luxury as the Crown Tower yet Crown Promenade's neutral simplicity modern deco suits both business and leisure travellers. Very spacious room with two Queen beds, floor to ceiling window even with a city view is nice. a 7 mins walk across the bridge to the city tram. Along the South Bank, numerous restaurants to choose from. A Nice option to stay in Melbourne. Health club is ok.

We would stay there again. A quality hotel w reasonable rate compare with the crown towers.

Bautiful Hotel, Too Bad about the staff

from IslandTraveller

We stayed at the Crown Promenade in early January for 4 nights. The hotel is beautiful, a very contemporary feel. Large rooms and a great pool. It is unfortunate that the staff have the warmth of a subway station. They made very little effort were far too busy to be bothered with the guests, A real dissapointment, for a beautiful hotel

Beautiful Hotel

from anonymous

By far one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The rooms were spacious and very clean and the views from the city side of the hotel were absolutely spectacular. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The gymnasium and pool were fantastic. Will definately stay there again.

Visit to the Visionstream offices, with Bruce, to see how things work in their Australian operations. It was interesting to see what the possibilities are out there, if we a brave enough. Friday we looked around the Melbourne offices and got invited to Bob de Boer's office farewell, one of many that he had.

Saturday we flew up to Sydney to …

Rustige dag vandaag.
