... 8211; and it replaces the old city walls) we came to Beethoven’s memorial. A dark, brooding musician, Beethoven was known in Vienna as a sour man, whose deafness put him outside the mainstream of society, yet here was a man whose music could take you to the highest heights even though he could not here it. The contrast between, for example his symphonies and Fϋr Elise, stand at opposite ends of the spectrum, whilst the Moonlight Sonata holds that brooding ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria siandnelLovely experience, but glad to be back in the west.
Walter has held up very well with no problems of late so we can feel the love again.
We drove from Slovenia to Croatian coast in a day then drove down the coastline which was the most scenic drive I have ever done. Water was lovely and warm for swimming, weather over 30 each day and lovely little towns and Mediterranean culture. Plus awesome campsites on the water. First night we free camped in a ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria jamish... to know what to do in a day especially if you're on a budget. The weather was lovely again, we're all in sandals and plenty of suncream already. The nights still get quite cold though so I've had some disturbed nights. Back to camp for dinner because it's cheaper, it's hard to stay to budget in European cities. Driving day again tomorrow, off to Budapest but it's not too far by our standards so we have the luxury of starting at 8am.
Vienna, Vienna, Austria jirdgirl... t speak much English, so it was a quiet ~40 min ride costing me €43.60 (oh god don't convert it, it hurts) and as we rode, I rubbernecked so much I must have looked like a chicken! I attempted a few photos... But they can't be too good. There was some rain when we started out, but it got lighter, and then it started looking floaty, and then - with great excitement - I realised it was snowing!! It was still too small to gather into snow on the ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria noni_matt... Phillip as our guide because we do not know a word of German! Hello, yes, no, exit, goodnight, the numbers 1-5, and good day are the only vocabulary words that we have picked up so far. He has helped us buy food, communicate with his family, and buy tram tickets. I don't know what we are going to do without him while we are traveling by ourselves!! We will be here in Vienna for 2 more days and then we are headed to Prague.
Vienna, Vienna, Austria mathesonduo... broth**s, the Strauss'. We spent a few more days in Vienna since th**e was no more rooms in any oth** city in the country, and our hotel was willing to extend our stay. It was a relaxing. low-key time for us. We ate more of our favorite Donor Kebap wraps as we kept up Allisons hunt for the p**fect strudel. Allison attempted to beat me in chess a few more times, and refused to accept advice. I love h** pride. When our day came, we w**e ready to leave. To westbahnhof to board for ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria antonym... etc. There were also people selling clothing. One of the first vendors we stopped at was selling soccer jerseys for only 12 euro. They had a Thiery Henry, Arsenal jersey and I had to get it because he's my favorite soccer player, and I love the Arsenal team (thanks to my little brother). I couldn't get over how many people were selling olives. They were all different kinds of olives too, stuffed with various things. We came to this one ...
Vienna, Austria celincline... pedestrian street and left my brother and dad there. Mom and I went back to the pedestrian street and did some shopping. I got my customary shot glass, something for Patrick and a patch to put on my luggage. We plan to go back to shop some more but stores close at 7pm around here. A few things about Vienna. Its a german speaking town, and most people speak only german. Our shuttle driver didn't speak english, our ...
Vienna, Austria littlefootann... and Germany] - especially as I arrive in Buchs at about 5:00am Wednesday . . . It's a night train - sorta unfortunately - so I won't see all that Sound of Music country after Saltzburg - however, I save half price as well as save on a nights accommodation . . . I really wanna ride up the Danube to Passau which is just over the border of Germany then up a tributary of the Danube to Saltzburg - which is right up thru awesome National Parks with ...
Vienna, Austria craig560... corners without crashing!! Finally it was time to get onboard the aircraft. Unfortunately that didn't mean that we were taking off just yet. After having spend an hour and a half without being informed about nothing, we were told to get off the plane and wait for a while inside the terminal!! Not the kind of stuff you want to hear when you are going on a holiday, you just want to get there without delays ...
