... lunch and then onto another railway station when we managed to catch the last train on the eight mile stretch, the windows were open and as we rounded a bend all the steam and soot came in through the window and covered us! At the end we watched the engine as it was turned around on the turnstile. We sound like real anoraks! ... white ones for the Confederate forces. It was interesting that the driving route around the park followed the Union lines so we saw many more blue markers than white. It may be that the placement of Confederate troops can best be followed not by a driving road but by walking trails so there are more markers off the road.
