Last day here
... early dinner and are now sitting in the cosy van watching the Remembrance Parade in London.
In the morning we pack up, hitch up and drive up to the Richmond area in the north-east of the Yorkshire Dales. Two weeks there including 4 days at a posh cottage courtesy of our friend Lynette from Nottingham.
All is going well and we will be in contact as soon as we find out if we have internet up there.

A Day Trip
Went to Melton Mowbray, the home of the Pork Pie and to a little village where history records the original Stilton Cheese recipe comes from. Also went to a rail museum that the web site promised was open, but it wasn't!

Another let down
Talked about the Heartbeat train and how it runs past the cottage near Whitby in a previous entry. Last time in 2009 it was Santa specials when we were there, this time it is closed all of November. I seem doomed never to ride on it but will try again in Spring.

Social butterflies
Lots happening at the moment.
On Wednesday we went to Newark on Trent which has a huge church which dates back to the 13th Century. In it is a life size brass plate which was on a tomb of a man who died in 1360 something and is the largest in the UK. It has an old castle where King John dies. He signed the Magna Carta.
I bought a TV aerial which Jean reckons is the largest she has ever seen. It is rather small really! Anyway, when it ...
