Lazy days in newark

... from newark. We bought the tickets on line and caught the train there at 2 for a 3pm start in Nottingham. Nottingham plays in the Championship which is the competition under the English Premier League - the teams still have huge support with approx. 25,000 to each game. we met some (3) great young fellas on the train (who i later told ellie and matilda looked exactly like the boys from one direction) - they were so friendly and chatty ...

... which is a big change but I'm starting to get in the routine and loving it! The kids are so cute and friendly, with two of them drawing Shana and I some pictures to decorate The Lodge with (I've put a photo of one of them!).

Peterborough is beautiful - the town and country is just incredible. Looking forward to exploring some more this weekend :)

... came together a treat. It was one of the most fabulous evenings ever, Alexis was in awe of all her new relatives, Vince rolled out his humour and Abbey and Millie became the best of friends.

Meeting my Uncle Alan, Dad's brother was something I anticipated doing years ago. To finally achieve my goal to meet our British family after my search began in Boston 20 years ago was both rewarding and satisfying.

... morning in the Peak District stopping in Castleton and even driving through Bakewell home of the famous tart. After lunch with the family we all headed out for an afternoon again in the Peak driving to take a train one stop and then walk back 3 miles along the Comford Canal - brilliant as you can see. This included a working steam pump house from Victorian times - great for Tomas for his ...
