So there we have it - the ferry is booked! I will be taking the 'King of Scandanavia' out of the country at 1700 on the 5th December. It's another one of those milestone events that forces one to reflect on the reality of the situation; however fear has given way to anticipation on that score.

For a few hours yesterday I considered "copping out" with the Dover to Calais crossing - being cheaper ...
Stoke On Trent, England, United Kingdom asphalt_pilgrim... for a few days; thanks Steve. :-)

This week will consist mainly of waiting for my next vaccination and another set of goodbye drinks but the process of refining the contents of the pack is practically neverending. Tonight i started filling plastic baggies with spices and wondering idly whether or not they will get me arrested at customs... might have to reconsider the larder options.
To be honest- it was decorated similar to Partridge Creek, and it was probably the same amount of people you would see at the Macy’s Day parade in a place a 3rd the size of ...

New Forest, England, United Kingdom churchill2020Mon 24th August Rain early on. Posted a CD of Mersey crossing photos to CanalBoat Magazine, and then departed at 10.45am after the rain had stopped. The locks were busy, but no queues. There is a bust road alongside the canal for three miles south of Middlewich, so continued as far as an embankment just short of Elton Moss, which is a bit quieter. Tue 25th August We had a short run into Wheelock, passing Bliss going the other way (BCF members Peter and ...
Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom jamesandhazel... see the mighty mighty Potters play the beautiful game. Stoke pulled off a magnaminous 3-0 victory over tough opposition. Newcastle Town, who nearly made it into the Unibond League this year were worthy losers against Premiership Stoke City (i'll never tire of saying that). Joking aside, we really didnt look that great, but for a first run out after the summer, 3 goals and the chance to sub 10 players at half time did nicely, and it's good ...
