Iloilo (pronounced eee-lo eee-lo)

A travel blog entry by kyley

... I was not going to pay when I had already paid the bus fare to get all the way in to Iloilo City (the fare for 5 hours was 350 pesos, so it's insane to pay 200 for 15 minutes). Anyway, they had to try, it didn't' feel scamming like the time in Brooke's Point, it just felt like trying to help me out plus making a lot of money at the same time. When another Ceres bus came by (the same company I had been on), I waved it over and the truck ...

Made my way to Bredco Port from where you can catch either 'fastcraft' passenger ferries direct to Iloilo City on Panay or slower RORO ferries to Dumangas about 20km north of Iloilo. As the fastcraft cost 270 peso for the 1hr trip which i thought was rather expensive i decided to take the RORO ferry for 90 peso instead. It took 1hr 40mins and ...

San José, a town of about 100'000 inhabitants and according to the guide with nothing really to see, does have 2 things I love after this long traveling day: the pleasant hotel Adelaide, very good value for money, and a Jollibee. Jollibee is the Phillppines answer to Mac Donalds, and a big burger with fries is what I need to match the crackers I had so ...

... What differs from other lighthouse is they would allow you to go on top even if it is all rusty. You can have a great view of the island from the top. Shares same coastline with Kenyama Beach ...

... and moved off. It was a magical experience to witness...the time gradually dwindled and our 10 minute world breaking allocation was over, however the lanterns were still being lit for another half hour at least!! We waited with baited breath for nearly 2 hours before the results came back....and while we waited we were entertained by singers and speakers from all over the world representing many religious groups including Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Sikhism. It was ...

    A place to stay in

We got rooms from a previous promo purchased by my friend's parents. The Crown Regency we stayed in was on Station 2. The rooms have cable television and air conditioning. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked as well. Basically all you need in a place to stay is there. And since my friends and I decided that we'll spend all day on the beach, we didn't ask if there's a pool in the hotel or what they serve in their restaurant.
