We are from the U.S.A., never traveled to Australia before, and did not know what to expect. The Crown Metropol did not disappoint us. During our 13 day visit to Australia, we stayed at the Crown Metropol in Melbourne. It was wonderful. It is a beautiful hotel, with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The rooms are spacious and stylish. Every staff member we encountered during our stay provided excellent customer service. The hotel is located in a prime spot, providing easy access to the places you want to go. It is connected to a catwalk that takes you to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment, including a casino, without ever being exposed to the outside elements. Nice! When you stay at the same hotel as many nights as we did, you want an above average hotel. It was definitely NOT the lowest priced hotel choice, but you really do get what you pay for, and we have no regrets. Should we ever return to Australia, the Crown Metropol would be our hotel of choice. If I had a complaint about our stay in Australia, it would be about the cold weather, in October, not the hotel!

Well, well! The Hoyes finally arrived in Melbourne, Australia, on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Ben Hoye endured his first international flight quite well, without making me wish I had left him at home! HA! He stayed awake during the 3 hour flight to Los Angeles, though we both crashed during the 15 hour flight from LA to …
... brilliant. I love every song from this musical.
The morning of the wedding I met up with my sister and we taxied over to our hotel at the venue for the wedding. Caught up with cousins and friends for a drink before changing and making our way to the church for Andrew and Sally's wedding.
What a beautiful bride, and a short and sweet wedding ceremony. The reception was a casual cocktail affair, with some very emotional speeches and plenty ...
... was something I thoroughly enjoyed. Fourth - volcanoes Fifth - Scenery - being away from four walls of home, seeing the sea - the sea is healing too I reckon. and Sixth - surprising myself by on initial arrival detesting the commercialisation of Waikiki but on staying where we stayed the hospitality, friendliness and atmosphere of where we were was a real bonus. ...
... then along the Yarra river and over the bridge where the symbols are explained. To the right here is the orchestra hall and we finish with the balcony view of the city.
It's amazing to think at what an achieve my was made in the making of this city. Victoria separated from Sydney many years ago and days later gold was found here. With 30billion it allowed Melbourne to build in 10yrs what it took other cities 100's of years to do.

No more potatoes....yay! The last three weeks has flown by, but it's been a great few weeks! Some friends from work took Sam out shooting and he shot a dear! He also skinned it, butchered it and the next day we ate it! I thought I would be a bit put off when I saw the dear strung up, headless and completely gutted but actually it was possibly the nicest meat I have ever tried! We washed it down with some cider then went out clay target shooting! It looks easy but actually it's ...
