We stopped for gas before leaving Texas and the highlight of the day could be considered the price of gas. We paid $1.99/gal. I never thought I would see that again anytime soon. The real upside of the change in scenery was that the additional foliage and water prolly knocked 10 degrees off things, down to about 90 degrees. Lafayette Louisiana is about 2 hrs away from New Orleans, and known for its Cajun food (versus Creole in Nola).
