... end, I decided to go to Costa Rica. Warm & tropical? Check. Cheap ticket? Check. ($234!) Safe & familiar? Check.

And what about the future? For 15 years or more I have thought about teaching English abroad.
I want to take the month long course to get my TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and find jobs around the world. There is a course in Quepos, Costa Rica and I may do ...
Boulder, Colorado, United States margreet98... fitting. My old ski boots were incredibly painful. Even though they too had once been custom fitted, they still managed to squeeze my feet and rubbed the skin off my ankle bone. Convinced there was hope out there for happier ski feet I not let down. Getting a new pair of ski boots tends to be a real fun experience (at least for me). You are surrounded by knowledgeable people who love the sport and what they do, and the other ...
Boulder, Colorado, United States alycat09It's hard to believe, but this time next week I'll be on a flight headed to Cairo. The planning of this trip has seemed to go on forever and I'm so excited to get started. Tonight I'm starting to pack up all my the necessary items. Water filter, first aid kit, silly sun hat...you get the idea.

Hopefully I will be able to share some posts from the road and I'll be having a grand adventure.

Here's a sneak peak at my schedule.

Day 1 Arrive ...
Denver, Colorado, United States aggiekatie... you take what you can get. Again our book on tape/ipod pulled threw and kept the boredom at bay. By the end of the day we were out of the plains and into the beginnings of mountains and CO!

We had dinner at the hotel, which was delightful. Afterward I met a friend for drinks, and HH and her sister gave me the nightlife tour of Boulder. Couldn't think of a better or more exciting way to see the city! The next day (Day 5) the plan was to head to Steamboat ...
Boulder, Colorado, United States alycat09... be the poison of choice, we also partake in scrabble and cribbage...but dominoes, particularly "fives" has a firm hold.

So now you know how I happily spent much of my time in Boulder. I did manage to find time to swim laps at the local pool and take hikes in the foothills. And one evening I joined Linda and three other women who had an extra ticket for the opera in Denver. I'm not a big fan of opera but i do enjoy ...
Boulder, Colorado, United States margreet98... to get away from the prairies the better. There were quite a few nannanaps by the passenger along the way, Jude and I sharing the driving! When we arrived in Denver however, what a great hotel to come to. We are booked in the Omni Interlocken Resort and all we can say is - vewy vewy nice! It is going to be rather pleasant lying in bed tomorrow and not rushing around like a couple of idiots!
Denver, Colorado, United States judencharlie... the heat and the oppressiveness of the humidity. The monsoons had come early this July, so the three of us were just eager to get our trip underway. We had secured the keys to Jami's aunt & uncle's cabin in Pinewood earlier in the week and had completed what local shopping we needed for food and cerveza for our arrival. We figured we would head into Flagstaff at some point to complete the bulk of the shopping over ...
Glendale, Arizona, United States cantinero... wildlife, in the far distance, while they are driving at high speeds and accurately name the animal? I believe it is genetic and dates back many, many moons and the need for men to hunt. I, as passenger, can be staring out the window and not see it. 3. Why does everyone always feel for the driver? Come on now, the passenger really has all the responsibility here. We are responsible for choosing where to go, how to get there ...
Denver, Colorado, United States gra8ful... trotting is spending time in new places, the worst part is getting there and back, so bring sleeping pills and be careful when making wishes. I'll be going back and filling in my travelogue with all the fascinating stuff I didn't have time to record while there, so stay tuned. I'll try to get some pictures posted soon also. In the meantime it's nice to be sleeping in my own bed again.
Glendale, Arizona, United States vania... of roses all over, and David Gray in the background. It was too good to be true... I thought to myself: "whoa! Ryan is really romantic! Eric and Greg left us alone and we started to enjoy our gourmet snack. Then during our conversation about traveling and fun stuff, I felt Ryan putting his hand in his pocket reaching for something. He was shaking abnormally. I still had no idea of what was to come. But ...
