C'est vrai que le Brewster c'est bien pour le panorama, et les glaciers ! Pour la route, c'est Thomas qui a fait le bon choix ! Pour le reste, c'est incroyable !
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada virgile
... it would have cost me about $20 for the return taxi trip and probably $30-$40 for afternoon tea it didn't seem worthwhile.

Instead, I went for a walk around the village, bought a couple of souvenirs, caught up on my washng and my sleep and generally had a lazy day. There's a cute little squirrel living here at the hostel, he runs back and forth all day across the deck outside my room but he's way too quick and ...
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada gonetravellin... the hike up to a mountain called Big Beehive (because it looks like a beehive, go figure :-p ) was a steep climb up. We had to take quite a few breaks. It was the very last part that had me alomst giving up, when I looked up and saw the skyline and realised that I was right at the top. And the views made it so worth the agony. From the lookout on Big Beehive you could see Lake Louise, the valley the the highway runs through to ...
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada jess_stewart... getting excited because Lake Louise has definitely been a place on list that I've wanted to see. It really is a place that photos can't do justice to; it's a place that is best to see in person.

We did some exploring and Tika and I bought some ice cream at The Fairmont Chateau. I looked up prices on the website and prices start at $399 a night. Wow. Two ...
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada alifebeinglived... remote locations such as this.

We descended to the south fork of Helmet Creek and crossed it where it descended along a lateral moraine. The trail began another ascent, this time 300 m to Rockwall Pass at an elevation of 2253 m, and boy did we feel ...
The Rockwall, British Columbia, Canada foothills_bearsThe trip from Cochrane to Lake Louise went pretty well. We started out on the backroads but decided they were a little too rough for us so we moved over to Canada HGWY 1 for our trip into Banff National Park. We made it to the campground at Lake Louise and waited in line for admittance to the park. We'd made reservations but still had to wait in the line that forms outside the campgrounds each morning for ...
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada danandkat... drinking tea and eating a very nice cinnamon bun whilst reading. I had planned to get an early night but Maake joined me and for a final chat before we went our separate ways the following day. I got talking to Matin who Maake had been hiking with that day. He was from Germany and we ended up talking till 4am!! We chatted about Germany and England and I learned a lot about their way of life and education system. I taught him some new English words including 'lads'!!!
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada kellybooth16... at Johnson's Canyon. This comprises a 2.7 km walk up along a river coming down the mountain to see some spectacular falls. It took us about 45 minutes to reach the Upper falls which were great but exhausting. The return journey only took us 35 minutes walking downhill!! However, the scenery was spectacular. We then drove into Banff. This is a very pretty little town surounded by mountains ans ski fields. There are heaps of souvenir ...
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada mrsmac... Not one to give up we went down the same one, I conquered my fear and made it down on my skis. Graham was by now a converted boarder and so in the afternoon we let Steve and Tara head off to have a go at some trickier runs whilst we headed off to the flatter groomed greens. Although a challenge is always a good thing, as it was the first skiing I'd done in 3 years with only 5 days self taught experience behind me I thought working on my technique ...
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada paulleck1975... out there were two buses running; one travelling straight through to Lake Louise then on to Banff, which is what we booked, and the other which was more a tour bus, stopping at some sights on the way, which is what we ended up on. This was great as we stopped to see the Athabasca Falls which were nearly frozen, only a small amount of water actually flowing. The ...
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada tomodeaLake Louise is a 45 minute drive from Banff. Surrounded by jagged, craggy peaks and receding glaciers, Lake Louise glimmers with a green glow, like liquid emeralds. The trails winds around the area giving hikers and opportunity to experience the wilder parts and see the lake from other vantage points. I stood at a trail crossing, deciding which way to go and asked a man with trekking poles and a rucksack if he knew where the glacier trail started. "It's on the ...
