We drove to a pub on the coast with so many stops along the way to take
heaps of photos. So we arrived at the
Pier Head Hotel in Mullaghmore for a spot of
lunch which was very enjoyable! Matt was
telling us they had record breaking waves just a week ago (66 foot –
crazy!). Crazy surfers were loving it.

Lets move on from there. Drove down the western side of Lough Erne to Enniskillen (which promised to be a great scenic drive except there was a 12 foot high hedge all the way down the left hand side of the road for 21 Miles). Please note that without any notice or signage whatsover you finish up in a town where the prices are in GBP Sterling.....and the distances are measured in Miles instead of Kilometres. ...
Dug up the past.
... seen, as can the Franciscan Abbey. Buried within it's grounds are Elizabeth Sullivan who was a nurse at Hatley Manor and died in a tragic accident there at the age of 18. Also buried here is the wife of Leiutenant Tommy Gilroy IRA who was a veteran of the Tan War with the Arigna Flying Squad.

... material and used for many retreats and fellow hostelers. The Gyreum was super unique, and even more so for the fact that we had the whole place to ourselves. We watched the sun set from the circular second floor seating area that evening.
It was here that Robyn battled the largest spider we'd seen in Ireland and where we shrieked our way through a very traumatizing spider execution via the kitchen sink drain.

... Couldn't help thinking how difficult it must be for the Irish people with their economy in such a state. One lady told us that many of the younger people were leaving Ireland in search of work in another country. History brepeating itself. Many chaps are leaving for New Zealand and Australia.
Hope thinks improve for them in the near future. Beautiful people and a splendid landscape.
