... and dead guys called mummies wrapped up in bandages, etc. and he was very happy to see a statue of Tutankhamen (as was I!). We had another delicious lunch and a not very successful Skype with Brendon's family for Kim's birthday. ... and the next being 13:35, crazy, there was meant to be an alternative bus at 10:19 but this never showed so we had to wait for the 13:35, luckily the buses ran late enough for us to get back...

Turin, is a lovely city which hasn't been over-run by tourists, which is always a good thing!

Asti

From Pavia, we headed to Asti, Originally we were heading for a Vin Yard with the ability for an overnight stop with facilities (from our camperdstop book), sadly we got there and there was nothing so headed for our alternative Campeggio Cagnidi Asti - It was a predominately permanent vans but with a few touring pitches.

We didn't actually do anything here so nothing to report - Just a pin in the map.

... and then we cruised for an hour through this strange countryside and lots and lots of tiny villages, some dating from the 1300's. There still seemed to be lots of tourists around though, and lots of motorbike riders. After Brig we started another ascent to the simplon pass (driving past the Matterhorn) - it was a very quick ascent, so a bit scarier - ridiculous bridges and tunnels (which were needed to make the route avalanche proof).
