Travel Blogs from Milan
... and I still wasn't 100%, to be honest, I think I was on some sort of high at one point due to my high blood pressure of running around infused with antibiotic flavours I was on another planet. So show time. And we do the opening dance number and boom we're all backstage. Normally one person should stay out to encourage the kids to cheer and smile and smooth on with the show but this time NO. *note to self- Joe, don't run off stage when it's you that ...
... involved in this place. I knew it right then.... We'd been here before during tour 2013. And we had some rather fun memories - toilet memories... But that's another story. And so we drive through this enormous wooden gate that our car barely fitted through and stop up on the steps of our aula magna (auditorium). As soon as we entered, boom, another memory. We had performed puss in boots and Peter Pan in this joint and this year we busted ...
... cowboys got to do with ENGLAND???? BACK AT THE FLAT -—-—-—-—-— ;-—- What's been super nice Is having not only the company of my lovely T-UNITERS, but also the gorgeous bunch from five week group who are on an extended tour (of course). But as they laugh and enjoy Alls company, I must sadly hibernate away into bed and try to shake off this dreaded cold/flu ****. Chillax all and think happy ...
... dance floor And then there'll be me, a lonely soul, resting well in the flat. BOOOOO......things like this always happen without a delay. But hey I best look out for my bod. Gotta keep this guy healthy and perky. SO...out go the guys and then there's me barely moving about, hoping the soup I had an hr ago kicks in. Into bed my dear fellows I must go and tomorrow morning I await the stories of last nights SHENINGANS. Bless you all and all a good ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Cristallo Hotel Milan
Reservation - what's that?
In January I booked and paid for a double room for three nights in March through easyjet hotels - Hotelopia.
Arriving at reception - 'sorry, no room here tonight. Go to Hotel Colombia and come back again tomorrow.' A number of others got the same treatment when they tried to check in. Meanwhile a large group of young men had no trouble.
It appeared that the hotel had made a commercial decision to accept a block booking although they did not have rooms available, and to send customers with reservations elsewhere for one night.
So if you wish to spend your visit to Milan checking in and out of hotels, packing and unpacking suitcases, and walking the streets with your luggage, I can recommend a reservation at Hotel Cristallo.
I stayed at the Cristallo in Mid December and found the hotel to be excellent value for money... we paid around 80 euro per night for a twin/double room including a breakfast which contained items like fresh fruit (oranges, apples, bananas, kiwi fruits etc), hot croissants, cereals, boiled eggs, ham, fruit juices, mineral water, coffee, tea and of course cappuccino (dont know if i spelt it right) plus the staff were very friendly and helped direct us to the nearby shopping boutiques in Corso Buenoes Aries. The rooms themselves were ok but they are not the biggest. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quiet and our TV had both CNN and BBC World Service! I would suggest this hotel to anyone staying in Milan on a low to medium budget and who wants to be near the Main Railway Station, Shopping and Air Terminals i.e. where the buses from Linate and Malpensa drop you off.
I have just come back from Milan and stayed at the Hotel Cristallo and found it quite shocking. The thing is the holiday to Milan was an unexpected gift from my parents because they had to go to New Jersey for a wedding so they gave the holiday to us.
Very Good Value And Clean ---- Not Disneyland.
My wife and I stayed at the Cristallo for three nights 24/03/04 to 27/03/04. I feel the price was reasonable at ?150 for a double room for that period. I have no complaints about service or value for money, lets face it, how difficult would it be to get the same deal in lets say London or even Glasgow?. Lets get something else straight, if you want false staff and pre-programmed "Have a nice days etc. GO TO AMERICA. However if you want to be around sincere people who arent out to empty your wallet, GO TO ITALY. What i would advise is to learn a few very basic words eg. GRAZIE, BUONA SERA etc. and approach Italians first, I am sure you will end up agreeing with me.
Not bad at all!!!
For the price, the hotel is well above what it should be. It is conveniently located, easily accessible, and clean! The amenities are not top notch -- but then again, you're not paying top notch price!
I've stayed in a plethora of cheap hotels across Europe (hostels & hostals included) and this is clearly above average for its star rating. Especially when you book on-line and get a cheap rate.
Only good for the price
We stayed here in May 2003 for a cheap price of EUR0 60.00.
The service was quite poor, the staff weren't very friendly or helpful, even when the hotel cleaning staff accidentally took my expensive pants to their outsourced cleaning company. They offered no apology, let alone some sort of refund.
The rooms were very average, old and in need of refurbishment.
The Breakfast was simple. Eggs, Crossaints, Prepackaged Cheeses, Juice.
The hotel is only 5-10 mins walk from the mail train station/underground.
Not bad for the price
Stayed for a few days in summer of 2002. We had a triple and the room was very clean and decently sized. Beds were comfortable. Front desk staff was not the most friendly or welcoming when we arrived (we had to wait a while before they got around to helping us) but we did arrive rather late at night. The next day the staff was much better. The hotel was very close to the train station, which was convenient. Our room was unfortunately near the elevator and there was a lot of noise from some other guests coming/going throughout the night. Otherwise our stay was fine.
We stayed at the Cristallo Hotel in Milan for a few days over Easter 2003. The hotel is well placed within a few minutes walking distance of the bus & railway station to the north of Milan. Getting about in Milan was pretty good from here - either a bit of a walk to the centre or walk to the bus station area and get a tram or the metro which both offer very good value & service (the only things to do so in Milan). The hotel is clean but the room was small and minor things need attention like our safe didn't work & some of the fitings were loose on the walls in the bathroom. The biggest problems were the staff and the bar - the staff were mostly abrupt (could be interpreted as rude) but then again, it seems that most of the Milanese were the same - I guess they aren't used to (or don't like) tourists!? The hotel bar was sad - very basic, expensive (as you'd expect from a hotel, I suppose) and the service was pretty shabby. There was no atmosphere at all in the bar - then again, there were no people! No-one in the hotel seems to smile or like to be asked to do their jobs - it's as if you're imposing on their time! The breakfast was ok - cereal, bread rolls, cream cheese (pre-packed), ham and boiled eggs, croissants, tea, coffee & juices - though didn't change & could get like groundhog day after a few days! Breakfast area was nice & clean if a bit clinical looking. Overall, probably ok for a couple of days for the price.
