Northern Spain is so green and beautiful! We enjoyed driving along the upper coastline of Spain as well as through roads covered completely in trees! As we were driving along, Jimmy eye caught a gypsi salesman in his van. We had to get out and see. This gypsi had a van parked on the side of the road, his back van door was wide ...

    Gijon

With 1000km to drive in 2 days to get to Logrono to meet the girls, we had a fair bit of driving to do. We drove out of Portugal along the coast to the North-west corner of Spain before heading along the north coast and stopping for the night in the seaside town of Gijon. Not much to report, we went for a wander along the shore and checked out the city before grabbing a feed and hitting the pillow around ...

    ... is top class.
Not terribly busy either so you are not constantly fighting with trucks as was the case on the mediterranean coast.
The hills and valleys are very like Ireland, lush green fields and woodland.
Naturally enough there are heavy industries now and again on the landscape but not spoiling it too much.
We went off the A-8 to a small village for the lunch rest and rejoined our odyssey 30 minutes later.
Eventually arriving in a town near Gijon called ...

Discovering El Camino de Santiago de Compostela

Maybe there is a message that I will be challenged by this trip. I was preparing to walk my two mile before leaving for JFK yesterday: the usual "walk to run an errand" up the greenway trail; stop to get something done ; and go east on 25A to Gnarled Hollow back home. I planned to stop at the ATT store to make absolutely sure that I had my phone on the correct settings so I wouldn't run the risk of racking up hundreds of dollars ...

    ... conducir.
