Well, we managed to get away at about 09:00 this morning and headed to St Peter's Square for the obligatory team photo in our Retinitus Pigmentosa charity cycling tops. Once we had done that we started the journey home.

... a butcher shop with him. The city was incredibly beautiful; it sat on a cliffside, which meant a whole bunch of walking uphill, but the people and atmosphere was really friendly and homey. So many would come and ask me where I am from and how I am doing, and you could tell everyone was very close in the town. I want to go back there soon and just hang out.
Last night was the final celebration of Santa Rosa. It was insane how many people there were in the streets. Absolutely packed. Thankfully I got to be in an apartment above the parade so I got a great view of them carrying the machine. After the parade there were fireworks, which were very beautiful. ... as I have wanted to for years. And the teacher Julian is such a good presenter; we learn history, art history and culture all in context. The pace is perfect and I am completely inspired. The courses include drawing, painting and photography, so I am picking up some great information. And while I may not be immersed in the Italian language, I am immersed in British accents and colloquialisms. Which is great preparation for my next move to London!
