Hi mom!! Haven't had wifi in a while so sorry about the lack of updates. I'm on the train to Rome right now, but have been enjoying myself in Italy thus far. Florence was really great, from the food to the history. I visited several of the cites that are in the book "Inferno" that I read this summer. My friends are sick of me pointing out places that the fictional character, Robert Langdon, trekked through in Florence and Venice. It is a ...

We arrived at a place called Ilci.

This place is all to ourselves because no one else is coming to stay here.

Our town centre is the size of 10 meters.

Every day we were in ...

... the piazza in front of the massive Cathedral with its ornate facade. A gentleman in the town hall across from it struck up a conversation with us and said it took 12 generations of builders to complete the structure. The town had a nice semi urban vibe to it and I noticed it is on the main train line between Florence and Rome. Easy to revisit without a car. :-)

... is almost too charming and perfect to comprehend. Everything looks like it has been carefully chosen to fit the fairy-tale theme. From the vine-covered walls and cobblestone streets to the old men arguing in the square and the busy pizzeria tucked down a little alley, everything looks like it is straight from a movie set during the Renaissance. Well, maybe they didn't have pizzerias in the Renaissance, but you get the ...
