... seen...and could not eat my own dinner. The only comfort I had was knowing that the site of the guinea pig even freaked out the meat eaters... Lauren gave it a crack...and despite tasting exactly like KFC...due to the presentation she will not be eating it again!

Despite the guinea pig the local wine was much to be desired and assisted in our much needed sleep (especially Lauren's!).

... Rover' and as the name suggests it is a somewhat Irish themed place, full of young party people and late nights. We had arranged to Meet Vanessa for Christmas Eve drinks but before we did we headed to a local eatery where Neil decided to brave the Peruvian delacacy of Guinea Pig, deep fried! The only words that come to mind are 'Road Kill' and it tasted as bad to boot, mission accomplished big hamster eaten but never will rodent be eaten by Neil ...

... war in diesem Bus die niedrigst mögliche Kategorie! Da lässt sich dann zusätzlich zu den extrem breiten Polstersitzen noch eine Verlängerung, als Beinablage ausklappen.

Außerdem gibt es eine kostenlose Internetverbindung im Bus, die allerdings hauptsächlich in Stadtgebieten verfügbar war. Und es gab Tee, Kuchen und belegte Brötchen im Service inbegriffen.

Ein bißchen beunruhigt war ich als wir mitten auf ...

... rit stopten we nog aan een aantal verplichte toeristische attracties, maar we waren vooral blij als we terug in Arequipa aankwamen, en in de hostal het stof konden wegspoelen onder een deugddoende douche. Die avond hebben we met onze nieuwe vrienden van de Colca trekking nog afgesproken om samen halloween te gaan vieren in het centrum. Het was de moeite om te zien hoe de peruanen zich prachtig verkleden, vooral alle kleintjes hadden de schattigste kostuumpjes aangetrokken.

... next of group of trekkers will be having mutton for their dinner! We headed off on a nice easy flat trek for a couple of hours over the terraces until we reached a mirador. There was a board with information of the area and it turned out the town we had planned to stop for lunch had no amenities.
