July 5 Today we left Thermopolis at 7:30 am. Almost immediately out of town we were into the Wind River Canyon, which is part of the Wind River Reserve. It is a deep canyon (2000 feet) with rocky crags made of solid granite. We had to go through several tunnels. As we came out of the canyon there was a damn and a lake. The shores of the lake were kind of like badlands. It was weird to see that kind of landscape together with water. We then drove through more rolling hill landscape with lots o...

The adventure begins! We closed up the house, packed the computer, loaded the car and headed to Colorado Springs. After running a few errands, we took Skippy to a park so that he could run and play and we could spend some quality time with the little guy. We went to dinner and then ...

Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States jasonmarshToday Frank stayed home to make us his famous pork chili. Takes hours of love and we were all grateful. Antonio went for another long marathon training run. Chuck, Hector & Diana went foraging for Jack In The Box, an Apple store and a double feature ;) "Couples Retreat" & "Whip It" both good and more importantly cheap. Only $6.50 and you know we did the 2 fer 1 cause we're geto(boys) like that. Made it back to home base in time to see Dollhouse and feast on dinner. Great day for all.

Starting this morning at 9:00am Loveland Ski Area will be the first ski area in North America to open for the 2009-2010 ski season. This is the earliest opening day at Loveland Ski Area in 40 years - and we couldn't be more excited ...
Loveland, Colorado, United States colorado_ski... thru Aspen Park, a few more towns that I fell asleep thru, Morrison, and eventually back to Bern's house. The next time I come to Colorado, I will definitely be spending a few nights in the Pike's Peak area, as well as more time downtown.

Tomorrow is Boulder, lots of fun things planned. Saturday, with the exception of the Coors brewery tour, is pretty open. Then Sunday I return home. It will be bittersweet. Goodnight!
Cascade, Colorado, United States kimmytravels... we reached Utah. What a difference. It was like being on a different planet. There aren't a lot of trees and there aren't a lot of people. We saw a few horses and cows but I think they were dropped along the side of the road by an alien spaceship. We saw exits for ranches but not a cowboy or actual ranch in site. We went 106 miles with no access to gas or a ladies room. It was really ...
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States obimomm... to mail home some clothing and items we felt were just weighing us down. Joe sent some gifts to his boys Joey and Jordan. They actually start back to school this coming Monday. We were going to leave today but they have been calling for some major thunderstorms in the area with 2" hail. So we spent our time restoring all the information into the new phone and planning the rest of our trip. Weather depending ...
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States ridewithjoe... got up and plugged the camper into the truck and using the truck's battery started the furnace. It was about 60 when I crawled out from under the down comforter. Is camping great or what??? Due to the freezing temps and the fact that our camper isn't winterized, we moved down into Loveland. Much warmer (like about 70), and we made road trips up into the park. Sunday morning (Oct 21) as we were packing up to leave, it started snowing. That's ...
Colorado Springs,, Colorado, United States jgsreh... course I have to get there and find a place to stay and food to eat... but for some reason I never put together that "everything I thought I knew is going to change". It is just so drastic and so true. Humans are such creatures of comfort. My daily life, that I have been so comfortable with for the past 3 years, is going to be placed on hold. The car, the clothes, the bed, the job, the familiar friends and family ...
