... A&W for a quick burger. Everywhere we looked were natural gas wells, oil wells and the supporting 'man' camps for the workers. This area was also big in forestry, as we passed many logging trucks and sawmills. As we approached Grande Prairie, the road split to four lane divided highway. And we passed real stores and shopping centers, like Best Buy, Bed Bath, Office Depot, etc. ...

... Tire as they were open until 9pm. Talked to a really helpful lady who told us what filter and oil we would probably need, she also recommended us to go for a walk at the Beaver Boardwalk which wasn't too far up the road to see some Beavers. We drove straight there and took a walk. We saw 2 beavers right off and walked around to the lookout. We were walking along the path when we heard the breaking of a tree and I turned and saw it fall over. ...

... Mike said we don't need full hookups, but I reminded him that we're RV'ing now, not tenting. The weather is so nice and we're tired of driving so we will stay here awhile. Apparently it is unusually busy late this year with having such good weather. We've only seen a few US license plates. Most are Alberta, but there are also a lot of motor home rentals.

We got set up and walked in to the town of Jasper. It's changed some since we were here 23 years ...

... of the park, immediately after we exited the park proper. The setting was certainly breathtaking, but while opportunities for wildlife viewing was a prime reason we chose this spot, it turned out to be a bust. The four adults took a hike along a path identified by the hotel after dinner, but we saw nothing, and the trail was not well marked and even a little creepy. The girls were more than happy that they remained behind in the lobby to play ...
