... up here. Our highest pass so far on this route was Obed Summit. It is the highest summit on this east-west route at 3820. With all the huge mountains ahead of us this seems odd.

We should start seeing some of the other motor homes that left Iowa soon. Most were going to Banff and Jasper, so starting tomorrow we may see some familiar rigs.

We traveled 511 miles. We are tired but the roads were good and no windy passes.

... are now two Chateaus, the latest addition from 2004. It is still beautiful in spite of all the tourists. We continued along the parkway seeing ice in the river at 4800 feet. The Icefields Parkway started at 5200 feet and went up and down for about 93 miles. The mountains were spectacular and every corner was another camera shot. ... long horned sheep that cars has stopped to take pics of. However, shortly afterwards a fox (I think) ran out in front of me. Later, I saw a moose but by the time I had stopped the bike and prepped the camera he had gone. Oh well !!
No bears though.
After taking a few picks of the mountains and popping into Jasper to buy Bear Spray ( $41 !! Jeez ! ), I will be sleeping with ...

... detoured via the massively deep canyons of maligne canyon which at its deepest of 51m pummels water through its chutes. Let's just. Say the steps required to go down (then back up again) really feels great on my ass lol. Can definitely feel some muscles there! The road hangs on the side of the mountain above a very deep valley in many places.
