Today we saw three of seven waterfalls on the Murtle River in Wells Gray Provincial Park. The only 3 waterfalls accessible by road.

First was the Mushbowl, as the Wells Gray Park road crosses the Murtle River here. The Murtle River drops 5m and is split by a central rock. The waterfall is located here because of Cambrian rock which has resisted erosion. The Mushbowl's name was given to this waterfall prior to 1940 and it is ...

... out of our coach and got within 100 feet of him and took a few pictures and then he walked up so close to the coach that we got pictures of him from our coach. He was very large and his antler's were in the velvet. He looked right at us. Later that morning as we were driving on the road to the ice fields (and on to Jasper National Park and Hinton, Alberta), we saw deer and stopped to take pictures of them.
