Part of my program involves a stipend to eat in the dining hall, but it hasn't kicked in yet so for this past week we've been eating in the staff lounges of the refectory. The country's two biggest exports are diamonds and beef...this means there's a lot of beef in the food here! Meat is served in some fashion for every meal, including breakfast. Chicken and fish ...

We were heading in the direction we thought they were when we got the call from the lodge to say that they were at the waterhole at the lodge so we had a fast turn around and rushed back. Of course they had gone. I was unaware that they were so rare but apparently they are very exciting to watch if you can follow them as they kill 80% of what they chase. Food was delish and the best part was getting a whole carafe of homemade ...

... was slow, but we found the guesthouse and managed to get a room. The local area was again devoid of any restaurants except fast food, but we did spy a hotel and grabbed dinner there. The next morning after (a quite frankly revolting) breakfast we resumed the trip north.

Exiting Gaborone in the daylight was much easier than entering at night time, and we were soon clocking up the kilometres. We stopped for petrol and this was when I heard an ...

      It's Friday!

A travel blog entry by rebeccagoes on Aug 30, 2013

Today was a busy day, I ran three successful focus groups (successful meaning everyone turned up and on time) and had one failed focus group which has been rescheduled. To be honest I was fed up of hearing myself ask the same questions so the break over the weekend will be refreshing. Louise and I took a walk to the other side of campus and then to ...
