    Routine...and fun experiences!

    ... the morning! We had a lunch brai (BBQ) on the lake inside the reserve and though our driver pointed out a hippo, we could only see it's outline. After lunch, we left the reserve and headed back to campus. It was a very long and exhaustive weekend, but a great first trip!

    I'm not posting pictures up here because I'm assuming everyone reading this is friends with me on FB and I have a couple albums up with photos from these events. :)

    ... ghost dogs. We were heading in the direction we thought they were when we got the call from the lodge to say that they were at the waterhole at the lodge so we had a fast turn around and rushed back. Of course they had gone. I was unaware that they were so rare but apparently they are very exciting to watch if you can follow them as they kill 80% of what they chase.     ... 2 nights a week for a $3 fee. We had some tasty hamburgers while enjoying a technicolor sunset. The sunsets in Africa are pretty insane. I remember from my last visit wondering how they could be so different. The sun is a huge yellow orange flaming sphere that fills up the sky with a burning orange color. It looks sooo BIG!     ... nature park just shy of the capital Gaborone, where I was hoping we would stay the night. Unfortunately all the cheaper accommodation was again full, and as it was getting dark plus I was reluctant to pitch my father’s new larger tent for the first time at night, we decided to change our plans and stay in Gaborone.

    ... the dam which is presently very low on water - a worry for the coming dry summer months. After resting at the top we made our way down, this time using a less steep path. Next on the agenda for the day was a trip to Bull and Bush, a pub like restaurant which had a food and craft market running.
