... and tonics for us and lemonade for the kids alongside some tasty billtong and cashew nuts! We got back to the lodge in the full darkness and were treated to a delicious meal prepared by the resident chef and accompanied by the staff all singing traditional songs to entertain us. This afternoon I went for a drive with Paul to Derdepoort Gate. He was picking up staff that were coming back from leave. The waterhole/wetlands area was very busy this afternoon. There were waterbuck, impalas, zebras, various birds and elephants swimming in the waterhole. The elephants were having a great time swimming and playing in the water. It was so cute to see them move quicker as they got closer to the water.

... we arrived and we spotted some other people wearing shorts, usually we are stopped and asked "aren't you cold?". Here in Botswana they are just coming out of winter so it is not rare to see people wrapped up in scarves, gloves and hats! We found the main lodge again and asked Kenny (the maintenance man/taxi driver) to take us to Mokolodi Game Reserve. We arrived at 4pm and after being told that there was no room, despite us making a booking, we were lead out ...
