It's raining this morning, so the temperature is higher. We started the day with a couple of blogs. On the lake there are a group of ducks, we took a few photos. We then drove into Gravedonna to buy a couple of essentials, just getting to the shops before they closed. Then we set off for the border with Switzerland. It wasn't long before we stopped to fill with diesel, checking with the cashier first that it had additive in it to protect ...

  • I had a beer back at the hostel a sat in the common room watching ...

... Itally, then Milan for a weekend, Lugano then Zermat and back to Bern, maybe Geneva then Amsterdam for a weekend.

  • I also looked at where to spend Xmas. Patrick was going to meet me as well so we decided to head to Lapland for Xmas, then work out way down through Estonia to Riga in Latvia for New Years.
  • I relaxed in the hostel bar again that night and talked to the bar tender before heading up to bed.

... of towns under one government. I guess it's more efficient that way, but that means fewer parkbenching points for me. I'm walking downhill now. I barely notice when I crossed my 4th Alpine pass this time. This pass was still below the treeline, and surrounded by families out for a stroll, it didn't feel like a rugged conquest, as the crossing of Splugenpass from Italy to Switzerland did. Soon the valley flattens out a little and there's ...
