... Views from the top floor were incredible. Next stop was a visit to the University of Washington. Situated on the water, it was an impressive campus.
We then took off for Pike Place Market. This was a huge open air market....fish, flowers, fruits, vegetables....you name it. The market itself was blocks long ...
Viel Spass.
Williams, Oregon, United States andre583This was an unexpected highlight brought to me by Tamami, who found it on the web. An entire hotel and resort entirely in the trees. Well, sort of. Most of the rooms are up in the trees, some as much as 40 feet, and some even have water and bathroom facilities. The whole place has been around for over 20 years and they have been adding on rooms and things to do ever ...
Cave Junction, Oregon, United States brandonibolognaFrom Coos Bay we continued on to Sami and Scott's farm on the Rogue River. We spent almost a month there last year, which was a blast and this year was, too.
We didn't do all the wine-tasting, at the various wineries in the area, but that's not to say that we didn't drink wine (although I'm not a great wine fan). However, we did do a lot of other things.
It seemed like several times a week, we had a few friends over for drinks and pupus (Hawaiian for ...
... to us - it's was a very small town! So yeah didnt get a whole lot of emails sent off cos he was such a chatterbox - he is an aspiring rapper so he started singing me one of his songs then got all embarrassed so played a couple he had recorded on his laptop!! Hilarious - not bad songs but funny guy haha. So yeah, another long day tomorrow, will see how far we get.
Medford, Oregon, United States sharynr... 50 BZ. The locals eat there. Bring your bug spray and make sure it's strong. Hopkins Village is a very mellow laid back village that is not over run with tourists. We only spent a day there, but we had a killer breakfast at Innies. The best beans on the whole trip. The locals are very friendly. Wish I had more time there. San Ignacio is bustling town with great deals on accommodations. It didn't seem as cheerful of a place as the coastal areas. This was the ...
Rogue River, Oregon, United States themeierls... Raggamuffin' Tours. 3 days 2 nights with snorkeling, fishing and camping out on a couple cayes along the way. Sounds just terrible but I think we can tough it out. Once in Placencia we will be staying at Harry's Cozy Cabanas for 6 nights. After that we haven't planned anything really. We are planning on seeing some Mayan Ruins but not sure which ones. Car rentals are way to spendy so we probably will take the bus alot. My (Jill's) dad left today for Hopkins Village, so ...
Rogue River, Oregon, United States themeierlsSo we head south to Brian's birth state, which makes him an Oregonian! There we find our long lost friends from Volcano the Neads and Brian's cousins. River rafting, flower shows, hiking, GIANT REDWOODS and seal watching are all highlights. Oh, and let's not forget the dune bashing on quads. Very eco-friendly....
Grants Pass, Oregon, United States bchawaii... part was to see new scenery (which was mostly tricky thanks to the rain), and the other part was to pick up the 5, which would get us back faster and be safer in the case that we came back after dark. We really only stopped a couple of times once we got on the road. The Smith River parks were gorgeous as well, but other than a very, very quick stop for pictures a couple of places, we stayed driving until ...
Grants Pass, Oregon, United States darkskye... South America and hope to return again soon. We would love to go with some of our family or friends so that they could meet some of the friends we have made. We are so thankful for God's protection and direction throughout our trip. He taught us so much and made the last 6 months a life changing experience. Posted on 04/08/08 1:36 AM EST [ Comments (0) ] [ Post a comment ]
