I travelled all the Oregon coast from Crescent city (CA) through Brookings, Newport, sand dunes of the ODNRA all the way up to Astoria. It was a great trip, however, I recommend more time for this trip than just the one day I had. Many places are worht to stop for a while or a longer while.

We actually had a good night sleep in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Although it is a 24 hour store, the lot was very quiet. We knew we were safe because the security guard drove around all night in a small truck with a flashing amber light on top.
