... it from its neighbor. Maps would include notes describing the appearance of the lighthouses and the frequency of their light flashing. I asked about a painting I saw on the way to the top of the lighthouse. It was a painting of a keeper sailing a boat during a storm. Apparently a past keeper went out in his sailboat and got stuck in a bad storm. The storm broke his sail and he was stuck on a neighboring island. He tried for 3 days to wave down passerbys, ...

That's exactly what we did. It was a beautiful sunny day, but it was a little chilly. We drove around the entire island and checked out the sights. There are plenty of houses on the island and each entry way looks like a path to a hiking trail. It gets kind of confusing when you're looking for a good spot to venture off into the woods! We found a little path that led to the water and parked the car on the side of the road so we could go into the wilderness. The ...

I wanted to get up early and head to The Apostle Islands, but we didn't hit the road until around 9ish. We had to stop at PNC because the bank had a hold on Mirza's card. We took care of that (kind of), grabbed some Starbucks (definitely needed that fix), and hit the road (10 hours of quality car time with Mirza, Oh My!). ... turns not excluding this trip prior to today. We always seem to enjoy the trip anyway. I think we just love to see different country side. 99.9% of the time I’m driving, which I love to do, and today was no different. Suzy and I researched our next destination and we were off and on the road. Not long after we were on the road Suzy turns to me and says that she didn’t think that our trip today was going ...

My departure day began as they all should: a session at the driving range with my friend Normita. She's new to the sport, I'm old; it's fun to see someone learn the intricacies of golf and thrill when a perfectly struck ball soars - further and further. Even those practice swings were done with a smile.

I'm really going to miss golf.
