Friday 3rd - An 8 hour bus ride after the night we had really isn't ideal! But we were actually holding up pretty well. We arrived in New Orleans around 5 30 and got to our accom about 6 30. The place seemed ok! The room was cool at least. We just grabbed the $6 dinner at the hostel, Cajun rice with chicken and sausage and quickly realised 1) we could have shared and 2) it wasn't very nice! A few people were sitting outside having drinks so we showered etc then sat down with them. There ...

... tour we took a tram along St Charles St to the end of its route to check out the Garden District and beyond. Really interesting and rather beautiful… all for a $3 day pass on public transport.

Back in the centre of town we tried to visit a recommended café but it was too full and noisy so we continued to the famous Frenchmen’s St for live music. A bit hungry we went to a café for pizza ...

... older New Orleans as the cars are original and fun to ride. They are slow but that is good to being able to watch the neighborhood pass by.

The Lafayette Cemetery #1 is really interesting with it above ground tombs. The tombs were arranged as if part of a town with streets between them, many of them designed like temples or other structures. Hopefully the pictures will do justice to the fascinating place. It is definitely ...
