    The local NFL team the saints were playing Green Bay packers sun night so there were fans of both teams everywhere - interestingly you can drink here while walking the streets. It was however unusual to see middle aged women walking the streets slugging on bottles of beer!

    ... and still I got…wait for it…a DAMN MOJITO. The mint leaves gave it away! The food itself was good once we got it but then I had to ask for the check which took forever to get and then when we got it he wandered off with our credit card and never came back.     ... bang! Anitia even had an all nighter which is super rare so it was a great night. It was sad to have to leave all of our new friends but hoping to have a Melb reunion in 2015 :) There was abit of a panic in the morning to get ourselves together and get to the airport. After a close call...we laid on the airport carpet still drunk but made it safely to Cancun (somehow). Can confirm - drinks were killer ...

    ... white. It's crime rates are double the national average. You have to be careful when leaving the safe areas of the city, but it's also very interesting. No way would you do it at night, you would get mugged or hurt.

    ... to the Garden District, and along the Mississippi River.
    The architecture in New Orleans is stunning. Streets lined with two, three story apartments with balconies covered in greenery and flowers, and supported by beautifully designed cast-iron that creates artwork on the outsides of these buildings.
    Interesting shops that specialise in witch craft and voodoo, Mardi gras costumes and pralines. One such shop 'Laura's' is New Orleans ...
