... been a very good day for food.

I passed a guy on the corner of Chartres playing saxophone and a block on from there, another playing violin, while around the corner on Bourbon this young kid was playing brilliant drums on a couple of plastic buckets - there's so much music in this town, and all of it is great. Wandered up Bourbon Street to Canal Street, where all the street names change from French into English, then back to the hotel for some TV news and reading before ...

The great advantage of not having definite travel plans is that they are easy to change. Many of you were expecting us to head East along the Gulf Coast, but instead we went South and are now camped at a state park in the Mississippi River Delta. We plan on being here for two days and then...who knows?...but we may head West.

... table! New Orleans is on the Mississippi River but actually lies below sea level. Entire family's get buried in the same tomb, you're simply slid in, decompose in the oven-like temperatures caused by the heat and your remains then "melt" through and fall to the ground. When the next family member dies they are also slid in and eventually fall in top of the last one! There's a tomb with over 30 family members dating back 100 years all in the same tomb!! Tonight we ended ...
