Today is our free day and it's not raining. Hurray! We can relax for a change and have a leisurely breakfast. What a treat. Once we started out (without umbrellas for a change) we immediately got lost. Unfortunately, it was an uphill misunderstanding. Minna was not happy. She felt if we had to get lost, it should be on a downhill course. We finally stopped a local to ask the way. After a lot of hand gestures, ...

What a glorious day it was! This morning Stephen and I woke up at 0730hrs to try and get some hot showers. Hours later everything started to seem ...

Nakamura is one of the oldest restaurants in Japan. It has been operated by 6 generations of the same family. The latest chef earning himself the coveted third star about a ...

After a nice leisurely breakfast at our now favourite breakfast deli, we took the JR train for Osaka to Kyoto. It is an hour long ride on the usual train with quite a few stops along the way. Thankfully, it was a weekday late morning so I think we managed to avoid most of the crowd. Upon reaching Kyoto, we made our way to our hotel. The local Ryokan type hotel. It is right beside the subway stop so pretty ...

    Japan

It was a bit weird leaving my apartment after 6 months. I guess it had started to feel a bit like home but somehow didn't when I was living there. I need to be near a park pr something green but the vicinity to work was convenient though it didn't make me any happier; especial given how little I've wanted to or even been at work recently. Anyway on to ...
