The rain stayed away on Monday so we called our friend from Victoria, Aurelie Stirling (who was also visiting Paris) to go together to the Pere Lachaise cemetery, resting place of the famous and infamous of Europe. The greyish skies, flying leaves and crisp temperatures greeted us at the fabled iron gates. We followed our trusty 2 euro ...

... towards SC. Incredible. Right let's find Monte martre. Down the alley through throngs of tourists heading up and **** upon **** of tourist shops. Down the bottom of the lane and most disappointed we stop and order a coffee (awful) and a choc milkshake. We ask the waiter what we should see. After dinner, we headed to the Eiffel Tower. We had the option to go to the top, which I took, and got some breathtaking views. We accidentally got in the line for the lift, which meant a longer queue, and we decided to run back down via the stairs to try to catch the bus. We missed the bus, so five of us decided to check out the nightlife before going back.

... see even the riot police had smiles. So we walked through to protest to the Hôtel Des Invalides and the Musee de L’Armee. There was plenty to see, from Napoleon’s tomb, knight’s armour, WWII uniforms, and heaps more. We spent a lot more time that I thought we could looking at ways designed to kill each other. Russians definitely win the fashion award for their uniforms! After some ...

... wait to get into the Modern Art Museum. So we stopped at their little cafe to wait it out.

The museum reminded me a lot of MoMA in NYC where, growing up, I must have gone with my father at least 3-4 times a year, or so it felt. It was open, bright, wide halls and fabulous art. I felt like I was in heaven, much like I did at Musee D'Orsay with the impressionists. I discovered artists who I didn't know and ...
