Nashville to Little Rock 345 miles

... Outside there are huge barns with all the gold records and clothes, all a bit strange but I wouldn't have missed it. We thought we would stay the night in Memphis but it really didn't look too good so we carried on to Little Rock, Arkansas and the La Quinta hotel. It was quite late and all that was around the hotel was fast food but it was too cold to walk far so we settled for a sandwich at Jimmy Johns across the road then back to room to watch a little TV, driving is tiring when you're ...

The building also houses a rather good restaurant which seemed to be far better than the prices being charged suggested. It really was a classy looking place but our soup and a sandwich was just $8.00 each which is what you might expect to pay in any of the chain restaurants stateside for something similar. I was up early on Wednesday, and headed to downtown Little Rock. It is an old city located along the banks of the Arkansas River. I walked around the River Market District ...

... a bit monotonous as TN is a very wide state, finally into AR where the scenery begins to change, things get a bit more arid, sandy, less green. Arrived at our friend Andy's house early evening. Andy is a long time friend of mine and Kristina's who moved from NC a couple years ago. Was nice to visit, catch up and share some beers and some ...

... Fish. Dad could have his catfish and I got shrimp. We are too predictable! The food was great! We were amazed at how busy the restaurant was on a Tuesday night. We definitely picked a popular place. After dinner we went to the. Riverfront Park and walked the Junction Bridge which is a pedestrian bridge joining South Little Rock with North Little Rock. We had to take an elevator to the top of the bridge. The view ...
