    ... suggesting that the bottom did not get very deep for that distance. There was not much wave action as a result.

    As we passed mile after mile of this type of beach, we really regretted not coming down to this area. Harley, in particular, would have really liked the conditions here. Oh well, maybe next time.

    ... time we were 10 miles northwest of Fort Pierce, it became evident the ride was NOT going to be smooth below the clouds, so I opted to take the time to climb above for smooth air, rather than get bounced around for another 2.25 hours. Turned out to be a good move, though the tops were somewhere around 10k' MSL, with a few build ups to 11.5k'. No problem navigating around them.
