        ... than teeth in his head, was using my gas. Much confusion ensues, with the general consensus being that I'm a spastic tourist. To be fair, they weren't far wrong!         ... the day. We tucked the Xterra amongst a large, thick stand of Coast Redwood trees, and enjoyed looking straight up to the trees disappearing into the sky. Let me tell you, deep in these tick forests, the dense canopy causes the forest floor to get dark about 4pm. As such, we called in an early night.

        As it was getting late and we had had an extremely long day of driving yesterday, we decided to drive only to Merced (approx. an hour and half from the park) and find somewhere to park up.
