The contenders for favourite places are coming thick and fast. Having left Santa Barbara saying that perhaps it would have been nice to have ended our trip there, we have now decided that San Diego would have been a good finish! ... baseball rather than watch the whole game as we had an early start the next day. We saw 6 (out of 9) innings and only 1 point was scored. I hadn't realised how difficult it was for the batters to actually hit the ball; in the 2 hours we were there the scoreboard showed only 9 hits. At one point the ball came very close to us and everyone was hoping it would come over the fence.
... had an excellent day at the zoo! We stopped at the Wavehouse for dinner on the way home so we could show the boys the surf simulators. They thought it was really cool and wished we had got there a little earlier so they could give it a try. Bruce was definitely thinking the same thing!
San Diego was a great city and we're so glad we ventured all the way down the coast to see it!
... or taco. Sit down and about 15 minutes later your hot food arrives. We had a large order of fish and chips, a calamari taco, 2 calico amber beer-battered tacos, and clam chowder. It was some of the best seafood we have ever had.
By 6:30 we were back at the hotel and beginning the task of repacking. San Diego was fantastic. Now we can get excited, tomorrow we get on a ship!
